RA -- Sounds fun, though I confess I don't know exactly what it is. Good job, though.

Me -- Bike ride of indeterminate (though likely even) distance. Did three miles at a 6:33 tempo earlier in the week that was clearly too hard, as my stems are nowhere near recovered.

Hello, Dan and Kevin. Good jobs to both.

Meh. Got a flat after 11 miles. Rode it home on the rim and decided to turn it into a brick. 3 mi run at 7:43 pace.

Glad THAT'S done. Got the 20 done. I was able to run on the bike path. Set up my personal aid station at the lake and headed out. First O&B was 8.6. Uh, a bit long to go. Then for whatever reason, rather than go the other direction for 7.2, I opted to do the 8.6 again. At m15 I did stop at a team's aid station for water which helped me limp back to the lake. Once back at the lake, I still had another 2.7 to go. Round and round the lake I went. Not a clue why I decided to do that as I really can't think of a worse surface than poorly maintained crushed limestone. Whatever. I got it DONE. Slower than I'd like. Nasty positive splits. Hopefully things will go better race day???

I did think of DAVID. There was a guy running, dragging a tire. I passed him at least a couple times. Not a clue how far he ran, but I can only assume he had been out there all morning. He was wearing a red blinky light which tells me he started before sun up. He was on the second side of the tire, as the side that was up had been worn through. And based on where I saw him, he had done at least 15.

chances--do you not know how to change a flat?! Does this GIRL have to drag her sorry butt all the way to Idaho to teach you???

Good afternoon gents, Well, the soccer conflict I was grumbling about yesterday because it was interfering with my long run took care of itself, sort of. I got up stupid early, had breakfast, dressed and jumped in the car to make an 8:15 am kickoff. Got there and I saw no soccer players, much less adult ones. Instead the field was teeming with HS field hockey players. I called the captain up thinking I had the wrong field or something, but it turns out nobody in the league had realized the field conflict and since the HS owns the field, you know who won that argument. Apparently my team had all left minutes before I arrived and I had just missed them (yeah, I was running late).

So I headed home, and without much fanfare, put away my soccer stuff, put on the Garmin, grabbed a water bottle and headed out the door in my soccer shorts. 68 degrees but the dew point was probably not much less. The plan called for 15, I ended up with 14.6 -- and in that humidity that was close enough. I'm just glad to have gotten the long run in.

RA - your quads, my calves, neither are happy right now.

Chances - sucks about the flat. I had a fun experience with one of those last year. Occupational hazard I guess.

Dan - you sound ready to step it up all right. Nice going.

kevin - nice job on the 6 and Moneyball looks pretty good.

ETA - 4BM - there you go, sneaking in while I'm posting. 20 milers are never easy. Great job pushing through and getting it done.

CrossFit duathlon is a term I made up meaning: Run to CrossFit. Do CrossFIt (which included running today). Run home.

Hey y'all. Yesterday was 11.2 hilly miles. Today was 9.2 flat miles. If I can manage 6.5 miles tomorrow, I'll have 50 for the week.
