Wow...complete crap today. 8.1 at 8:34 pace and it was difficult. I think I may be overtraining so I'm taking the rest of the holiday weekend off.

Alex - smart to listen to your body, a few days off will do you a lot more good than harm.

10.5 miles trails. I had planned for 14, but my knee started burning again, so I deemed it better to cut it short rather than inflict too much more damage. Not feeling too great about it.

On the bright side, it was only up to the low 70's by the time I finished, so it was lovely weather to run in.

I saw 6 doe and a hawk.

Part II. 7.4 miles, temp in the mid 70's and breezy. That caps my first 40-mile week since March. Beer me.

17 with temps in the 70s but a billion % humidity. I managed to lock my keys, phone, fluids, and fuel in the car, so it was extra "exciting." I was able to get water at the rest area water fountain, but not as much or often as usual. Definitely character building this morning.

Hi all,

Sorry for the late post. I was away all weekend, and didn't have Internet access.

The course description in the run will probably be meaningless to you folks. It is based on this course.

The plan was 8-10K race. Couldn't find a race to do, so I was left again to do an individual time trial type effort. I decided to run 6.4 miles, the first 3.2 miles out and then turned around and ran back.

Here's the full report:

Daily Run Report

Date: 09/01/2007 Time: 11:51
Run Type: Race Pace Run
Distance: 6.4 miles
Total time: 00:51:33.0 Average Per Mile: 00:07:11.2
Course: OTHER COURSE
Max HR (for entire workout): 180
Average HR: 164
Shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 10 - 08/2007 Date Entered Service: 08/20/2007 Ending Mileage: 70.9
Weather:
Temperature: 68 Temperature Type: Ambient Air Time: Start
Temperature: 68 Temperature Type: Ambient Air Time: End
Dew Point: 51 Time: Start
Dew Point: 49 Time: End
Wind speed: 3 Max Gust: 13 Direction: N

COTTAGE TO DAM AND BACK.

Plan today was a 8-10K race. Again, a search of the race calendars at coolrunning.com revealed no 10Ks in Northern New England this weekend. So I was reduced to doing an individual time trial.

In my first ITT run several weeks ago, I ran over this same course. Back then it was a 9 mile ITT, so I continued out another 1.3 miles before turning back.

I felt pretty good, but had to keep telling myself to keep pushing the pace. I kept wanting to go into my normal marathon training pace.
Run Segments
