I planned on doing my 10-mile out-and-back rolling hills route on the bike trail today - which I did - but added on a mile at the turnaround, going up a side road which turned out be a really nice addition. My avg pace was probably around 10:30. Then since I was tired at the end, I decided to run faster for the last mile - and ended up running 9:15 ! Surprised the heck outa myself!

Always feels great to finish strong. Well done, Happy Feat.

I wrapped up the month with a solid 5-miler on the trails. May sneak into a 5k right here in town tomorrow. We'll see.

I hope you do that 5k, Baba!

10.1 miles for me today, 8:08 avg pace and felt good. I sure needed this cutback week, and feel so much better now. More energy, less coughing and overall better outlook on things. I hope it lasts... next week is planned to be a big one with my second attempt at a 20 miler before Newport.

Yes, Erika, a cutback week is always good for the soul, if not for the body. Or so they tell me...

My 15k race yesterday was amazing. I basically ran it at my 5k pace, which means that either I run my 5k's too slowly, or I ran this too fast. Either way, it just seems like I only have one pace, regardless of the distance. Now I doubt this would translate into a long effort, but hey, so far so good!

Official stats: 01:22:39 and placed 230 overall out of 339, gender place was 74/144, age group place was 12/19. Right smack in the middle, pretty much. I'm very pleased. :)

Good luck to today's racers!!
