Morning all;

Got in a 10 somewhat hilly miles this morning. Literally ran into a local 5k (should have bandited it as it was just starting), passed the "Austin Birthing Center" and discovered the Pain Management center a block away. There was also a random 32" TV on the sidewalk by some office buildings... old but not a scratch on it.

We'll be dropping DW's bike off later today. May drive the bike course again. Race starts at 7:30am but her wave is at 8:30... that means I'll be there with DD for a LONG time. I'm betting on 1 or 2 mild meltdowns... DD may have one too...

RA- what race is it? good luck to the DW, and to DD dealing w/ the meltdowned daddy.

I got out for 12 this morning. Really enjoyed the past 2 days running in the 30s. I tried to keep the first 6 around 8:30ish pace and then cruised the second 6. May have cruised a lil too fast seeing the last 2 miles were pretty tough (although mile 12 was my fastest mile @ 8:00) 1:39:47 total. Had to dodge a Frisbee golf tournament, softball tournament, youth soccer games and a few yard sales. No TVs, did eye a nice little red filing cabinet though...

Where is everyone?

RA -- How's the weather down south? And how could you tell it was 32" zipping by at your speed? Good luck to DW.

BBS -- Great run! That's among my favorite training distances (10-13, or so.)

Me -- 2nd and 3rd legs of my sprint today. Very pleased with the race execution. My swim time from yesterday put me in 18th out of 68. Kept a brisk but controlled pace on the bike for a 20MPH+ bike split. Then 6:40s on the run. 1:09:39 -- nearly 7:00 faster than last year. Good enough for 2nd in 40-49 AG.

Nice job on the running and racing today. I got out for a very nice 7 miles today. Then I went and watched Captain America. Later it will be watching the University of Utah football. Have a great day everyone.

Asics--be sure to pack plenty of snacks and some fun toys and games. I'm certain your DW has your DD's bag packed already.

BBS--yah, I'm enjoying these cooler temps too!

chances--nicely done!

fuller--sounds like a busy day. Careful not to over do the 12oz curls.

Fall is certainly here with much cooler temps. Delayed my ride until late morning. Had hoped son1 would join me but he decided he was too sick. Gotta agree as he has a pretty nasty cough. Since this was just a "great to be alive" ride, I decided to take the camera and enjoy myself. Will post photos in a new thread. Planned 40-50, finished with 45.

DW's race: Austin 70.3 Ironman (aka Longhorn 70.3). Temps have been low 60s going to mid 80s. Been a bit windy.

Hey Saturday peeps,

We're in Miami waiting for our connecting flight home. 50s temps will feel decidedly arctic to us after the past week. Right back into the swing of things though it will be. Soccer tomorrow, full load waiting on my desk at work and a busy week of training in fall temps. Fall colors should be hitting peak this week in our area.

RA - good luck to DW -- and hopefully DD can keep you straight.
