Major Shout-out to Cake: Our very own Cake graced the e-newsletter of Max Performance, an organization that puts on triathlons locally. She was featured as Athlete of the Month! Congrats, and nice write-up!

The change in the weather has brought some running relief. I ave really been struggling to increase my long runs as the weather has remained warm and humid. A couple weeks ago when we had a cool day, I was able to finish a 8.5 mile run with out walking. Last week the the temps and humidity came back. On Sat I tried an easy 5, thinking I could do my long run Sun. Saturday's 5 miles turned out to be 2.5 out and 2.5 walk back. Sunday seemed cooler, but still humid. I managed 3 miles out, then a 5 mile walk. Shins were a bit sensitive after that.

Flash forward, Mon ran very easy 5, Wed swam 1500, Thurs ran 5 moderate, Fri off, today (Sat) finished the 8.5 mile running at a pace faster and more comfortable than my 5 miler a couple days ago. It rained from miles 3 to 7, but was actually rather nice. Tomorrow (Sun) AM I'm thinking of a swim, have a wedding to go to in the afternoon.

I was thinking of running 10 next weekend at a pace easier than today, and get to 11 and 12 in each of the subsequent weekends, mixing in some hills along the way.

The race is Nov 6th. Any input for prep would be appreciated.

Thanks
