Kevin- good luck with the 5

I'm trying to scarf down my breakfast so I can head out and try to beat the heat. Its a nice 38* now, but will be in the 60s by the time I get done. Fingers crossed, hoping for a decent run. 23... That just sounds way to far to run. At least when You run 26.2 you get a medal and a shirt...23, nuthin but pain.

Good luck out there today

Kevin -- Enjoy your five.

BBS -- Never know, it might turn out to be a delightful run. Take 'er easy.

Me -- Been AWOL playing lawyer the last little bit here. Mileage barely breaking 20 MPW. Spending some time on my bike, too. Slowpoke, I am. Snowing lightly today -- we'll see if there's a run in me.

Searching for my motivation... Long morning at work. Very good visit though. NEED to get a run in but it's 40*, damp and overcast. Plus, now I have time to over think the run. I need to get out there and just run.

I think by the time Thanksgiving comes this next week I will be running in the teens. It is suppose to snow and be quite cold. I got in 5 miles in 43:49(8:37). I did manage to not get blown over. It was blowing hard enough that I could feel it pushing me faster. Now I am headed to watch Harry Potter in a bit.

kfuller - you are Loopy's sidekick. He does 10, you do 5. I like it! Enjoy HP. I'm hoping we can get to a matinee showing tomorrow but I doubt it'll happen.

BBS - hope the long run went well I think 22 was my longest training run (if you don't count Chicago 2010) and that was back in 2008. Get your wife to make a t-shirt that says "I just ran a f'in long way and had to make my own t-shirt".

Chances - I'm about the same minus the biking and other stuff

4boysmom - I recall you stating that those conditions are perfect for running...

Nothing for me today, other that running after DD. Should probably do some crunches, planks and pushups while she's napping. I signed up for a 10 miler and HM next Spring... I'll be looking for some fast times. Also, I mentioned to DW about the potential change to Boston registration and qualification (announcement due in the New Year) - she was not very happy about that! Oh boy! If that happens we may do the Illinois marathon in April (just when I decided not to do marathon training over the winter or at all next year) since she has a HIM lined in October. Fingers crossed.

Asics--that opinion changed after spending a week in sunny Arizona. THis cold damp crap sucks!!!

Finally got out for a run. Long sleeves, short sleeve and tights. Wasn't cold, but never really warmed up. Headed over to the next neighborhood and opted for a single loop. Run felt good, just decided not to push it on distance. 9.28m, 8:37pace. Huh. Not sure how I managed to do that.

Need some input here... There's a HM in a couple weeks. Yah, I know I said my race season was over. I'd really, really like to break 1:50 (8:20pace). I do tend to race better in cooler conditions, which is why I'm considering this. I've not really done anything since my full at the end of October. Given how I did today--considering I just came off the 3-Day--do you think I could do it? What kind of training from here on out?

Checking in just as the day ends. It was a training day for DW today as she gets ready to run a 5 mile turkey trot on Thanksgiving day on only 2 weeks of training. Based on today's results I think she's going to do just fine. We headed out to the lake and went 5/3 run/walk -- I ran alongside to pace her -- and she got through the 4.7 mile loop with no problems at all. As for me I got a nice little recovery run in a gorgeous fall day. No complaints here.

Time for bed now, though. Have good ones all and good luck Jill!!!
