It must be getting pretty cold in Alaska, Mike. Hope you enjoy 'simple' life (which is totally my own assumption) up there.

I have been super busy at work. Things are just piling up (good thing I guess) while I am traveling a lot. I was in Canada 4 days this week.... Luckily I am not focusing anything other than running, even that is in taper mode for the next weekend's half. So all is good. I was doing vo2max run in 25F degree in the dark a few days ago. The first interval literally took breath out of me...it was a little scary.

This morning was a group swim, 3500yd. The first swim in 2 weeks. I could tell I haven't swum for a while by my arms getting really heavy toward the end. Felt good to be in water. Now if I can get back onto a bike sometime this weekend, that will be first time on saddle in a few weeks. I am not very committed to anything other than running right now. Just plain busy. DH/Kids don't like it at all. Especially, DH is driving his two-seater sports car (his normal car in shop) so he has to take one kid at a time to school when I am not around. And kids have to go to latchkey after school. Urg, life.

Enjoy a beautiful fall day if you are getting one. DS's Martial arts belt test soon. I am excited!

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Mike: Dork? Yup. I was actually caught in action, or shall I say between actions, of ribbing the photographer and, well, ribbing him again! But still, I love it!

50 minute (maybe 5 miles) solo trail run early this morning. Quite nice as I came upon several folks out for an early morning hike. I was sure not to scare them as I was coming upon them. Few mountain bikers, but nothing to worry about in clogging the trails, because they stay on the easier, less technical trails, and the hiking trails on which I run are of the more technical variety.

Rake some leaves today, you northern folk!

Mike: Weather is still ok, you didn't take everything with you!

I've got a ton of leaves, but I have this huge maple tree that still has tons of leaves on it. I rack now and the lawn will be covered by this afternoon.

Morning group workout: About 50 minutes of Pylometrics and core. Then an hour in the pool, basically a masters session.

It's 11 degrees right now with the wind chill down to -7. The Tuesday before I left it hit 70 degrees in Chicago.

Good afternoon. What a gorgeous day here in NY's backyard! It's about 55 degrees and sunny. I couldn't resist doing a short run after my yoga class this morning. It was just too nice to waste such a lovely day. So after a very strenuous yoga class (substitute instructor), I ran 1.5 miles on my favorite little dirt road between the low reservoir. It's interesting to see the old house foundations when the water gets so very low. The fishermen had to go way out to get deep enough water for fishing.

I thought I might be too tired to work out today after getting home late last night from the Joe Bonamassa concert, but I was fine, thankfully.

Enjoy your day everyone!

4 easy this morning. I realized that this was the first time ever that I've run 5 days in a row, soon to be 6 tomorrow. Taking that build slowly because the run today was meh. I figure I'll have more meh runs as I get used to the extra load. All part of the master plan. In 2011, I have two goals and two goals only. Sub-4 in May and 3:45 in the fall. :D

YoSake: DISLIKE on the heavy workload. I am having a crazy week this week myself and it can just be a bit MUCH shall we say sometimes! At least getting out on your runs is a great stress buster!

Hobey: I'm going to sit back and enjoy you on this next endeavor. I'm also very curious to see the mileage ramping up. For years I could only run 3X week to keep injury at bay, now I can easily run 4X and probably 5 if I wanted. Does your plan include any strength training or cross training, or just running? Will love to watch you SMASH your goals this year like you always do.

I forgot to post my "workout"....LOL...........3 mile walk with Kelly first thing this morning, beautiful morning and great to have all that time to chat with my BFF.

Half Marathon #11 is on the menu tomorrow morning. I am totally relaxed as I am just going to coast it and enjoy the day. Cari is in COMPLETE freak out mode as she goes for a PR and to break 2 hours. It is rather enjoyable to just complete a race and enjoy and not have the stress of trying for a certain performance. I am making her wear my garmin since she always goes out too fast. I told her I will start with her and hang at her pace until I don't want to deal with it anymore and then she will peal off. I am excited for her!

Easy 5.25 mile run this afternoon in between more grad class work and laundry/cooking. DH was kind enough to drive DS all the way to Laconia for his hockey game. He played quite well and scored another goal.

Easy 6 through the neighborhood while the boys did the grocery shopping. :) Focused on keeping an even effort and it seemed to work pretty well. Creepy factor occurred around mile 4 when I went through a four way stop and found four police cruisers stopping every single driver that went through - big back up as they checked IDs...

Nothing for me but probably the best Saturday in a long time. Beautiful day, drove Matt and Eli around on the ATV, hauling dirt and mulch, planting mums, a short nap and celebrated the end of gardening season at the CSA for a potluck, hayride, and bonfire. So many nice folks and good food. Hoping for a short run tomorrow, but still have a bit if a sinus thing happening so I'll play it by ear.

Just running. Ramping up to 60 mpw will not leave me time for more with work, family, etc. The extent of the x-training I'll do will likely be ice cream rides or something. I'm actually going back to a more pure running plan than what I had followed for previous half marathons.

I like your approach. As touched upon a bit on the Alicia's marathon thread, we get in a habit of 'oh we can do this, and we can do that', wanting all. I bet you find just running pretty refreshing and less complicated to the juggling you already are doing. I am enjoying focusing on just running right now (and probably all the way to the Boston). I was getting really tired of trying to squeeze all in. Very excited to see how you tackle the two goals.

50+ mile long ride. Started out about 30F - ended up about low 50s F. Got to love New England. Next two weekends lost to travel, so probably not much riding left on the year - but happy with crossing the 3500 threshold. Best year ever for me, but it's 4000+ in the cards next year. Just have to start riding longer earlier....
