14 miles this morning in 1:59:04. I felt great. Probably one of the easiest runs I have had in a while. The tempurature was perfect, low 60s, but it was pretty humid. The route was pretty hilly in spots, but I guess that's good for me.

Nice run aphigirl!!!

6 very hilly miles with a training group. Started out in the 9 min/mile group but wound up with a 7:57 pace for the run. Pushed the uphills hard and took it easy on the downs. Felt good. Temp was a perfect 35 degrees with no wind. WOOOHOO Shorts!!!

2 more with the DD after.

howdy do

wow...great runs, aphi and dg!

For me today, it was day 6 in my no-run rotation week.
I can tell that the bod felt better compared to yesterday's exhaustion, cuz I was able to do the entire kickboxing workout [including plyo blasts and endless tuck jumps...OY!] + the leg drills at the end.
I.wont.be.able.to.walk.tomorrow.

in case anyone is interested, this is Cathe Friedrich...the fitness guru whose tapes I do. She is my gun role model. [and core, and legs, and back]

This is the w/o I did on thursday.

12 miles on the tm today. This is a cut back week for me for my lsd run. I ran it at an 8m18s pace (just under 1h40m). I would have run outside but, I needed to stay close by to be here for DS if he needed me. I hit 50 miles for the week for the first time since last summer!

Great runs DG and Aphigirl! WTPJ, I'm always impressed by people that can do classes/video workouts, etc. For whatever reason, I'm unable/inept, etc.

8.25 miles total.

Plan called for a 8-15k race, but there being none available I ran 5.25 miles hard on the dreadmill after warming up.

Pretended it was a race. 1.5% incline. Managed a 7:18 pace over the 5.25 miles, but it wasn't easy.

Ah well, 18 miler tomorrow, gotta maintain some energy, right?

Nice runs all -

Today it was 44F and foggy at the start and 55F cloudy with a nice breeze by the end.

When in training - I try to run 1 -30 or longer mile run every 4 weeks. Today was the day. I thought I would abort early on - it sucked and sucked and sucked some more - Not sure if it was the 5 beers last night or all the miles this week. There is a 7 mile route we run on Tuesday nights, so the goal was to run it 5 times. Each 7 mile loop felt better and better and better - to the point it was a shame to stop @ 35 miles, but I made a promise to be home by 1:00. The only gels I had were a mish-mash of what I have received in Marathon bags - 5 diferent kinds.

Loop#1 56:30
Loop#2 54:21
Loop#3 53:42
Loop#4 53:09
Loop#5 51:18

Total Run 4:29 or 7:41 pace

Nice 6+ mile bike ride with my 6 year old when I got home - No rest for the wicked

Good running to all -

6 miles of hilly trails in perfect conditions, ran it hard against the clock and finished 7 minutes faster than the same route back in November.
Good runs all

Much better long run today. The legs felt a lot better than the last time I did the long run.

I again tried to focus on form, but I did notice I was leaning forward when I was getting tired.

I deliberately tried to push the pace during miles 4,5, and 6. Some of the other miles were all over the map on time.

Gorgeous day for a run.
Run Segments
Flounder- super run today.

The Mad City 100km is two weeks from today. Why not enter? Date conflict? You're in shape for it, IMO.

Today is three weeks from Boston, and I joined the group for an easy 23 mile run in the Cuyahoga Valley. A fun run with a mix of towpath (flat dirt trail,) roads, hills, and even 3 miles on a muddy technical trail. A mild 55F and muggy at 8am.

23 miles total: 3:20

Added 8mi road cycling this afternoon to loosen up. Whew, I'm pooped.

roots, flounder, I tip my hat to both of you...very nice efforts today!

aphigirl01 - Too bad we didn't live closer to each other...your 14 miles today were about the same speed as mine first 14 miles.

Roots - Not in the shape I would want to be for thta race - I would not get satisfaction in just finishing the distance.

My question for you - Are you running that race - I remember your 12 hour race total last fall -

2 weekend from now is Easter

I thought the race was next weekend

Nice runs, the whole lot of you. Impressive times and distances.

I'm just back in the door from my first longish run with 9.5 m.o. DD2 in the jogging stroller. 10 miles in 1:24:33 (8:27/mi). She slept the whole way, what a great kid!

It was a nice relaxed run at sunset.

Great runs yesterday everyone!

I did a 7K race and since it was the first 7K (that's about 4.35 miles for you Americans) race I've heard of, I got a PR! I didn't know what to expect for a time b/c my legs were a little dead this week, but I managed to break 30 minutes, barely. I probably could have done a little better, but I ended up running with a few friends who wanted to run 7-min miles. Of course, they had already run 16 miles and were going to do two more after the race to make 22+ for their last long runs before Boston....
