Muggy this morning. Gonna be in the mid 90's today and humid. 2 miles today. Fourth day this week of running - None of them to write home about; but good enough to write HERE about....

Each run is becoming easier and easier.. I'm even thinking of signing up for the Capital City Pursuit in September (10 miler)

Yay satfix...we're all proud of you here!

Longest run ever this morning. Woke up at 6 and headed out the door 15 minutes later. Started out slower than I needed to I think, but it felt easy as long runs are supposed to be. Pushed it a tid bit more once I knew for sure I could make it. 13 miles in 1:47:26 for 8:15 pace...I'm happy with that.

Perfect time of day too...barely any wind, sunny, and mid-60s.

Have a great day!

5K race this morning. First time I've raced that distance in at least 15 years. Also my first Age Group win! Wooohoooo! First place in the 30-39 age group. The course was hilly, my Garmin said there was a little over 500 feet of elevation gain and 500 feet of loss during the course. Nice long up hill to the finish. Anyway, my time was 22:11. I'm pretty happy with that, I suppose. It's basically what McMillan Calculator predicted based upon my last Marathon.

Anyway, woohooo! I won my age group! Nice blue ribbon and everything. Not sure how many others were in my age group. There were at least two others though, as they got ribbons for second and third.

The race was in Fair Haven, Vermont and was a benefit in honor of a long time area runner that died a year or so ago of Cancer. I never knew her, but I do know one of her brothers.

Anyway, I've been rambling. Can you tell I'm pleased?

Have a great day all!

19 miles for me this morning. It was pretty hard but I made it! It was already starting to get Hot and humid when I finished so I was glad I started at 6:30. I'm off to lounge by the pool-I need it

I did 17 miles total today. I went out and ran 12 miles and then headed over to a local 5K race that I always run every year. I did a warm up mile and then ran the race. I didn't know what to expect since I was doing to be on tired legs and it's pretty warm. My first mile was too fast (7:01) so I took it back a couple notches since I knew I couldn't maintain that. I finished in 23:34, and I'm really pleased with that. It's not an overall 5K PR for me, but it is a PR for that course. I won first place in my age group too! I did a cool down mile after all that and now it's nap time, by the pool.

Congrats to you HangingJury, and great job Alex on your longest run evah! Great runs everyone!

Wow. Awesome long run and race reports in already. Congrats to HJ and Aphi on the hardware. Good going.

78F and humid at 8:00am.

Ran today with the groupies down on the Towpath Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley. 16 miles easy on the flat dirt path. We started out easy enough so that the return-trip 8 miles ended with a slight negative split.

Rest day here. I did an hour of power yoga which by the feel of my tight right hip and hamstring is just scratching the surface of the TLC they would like.

Great job everyone!

Wow this place is filled with studs....even more today than usual I think.

Congrats on the winners! That is awesome under those circumstances nonetheless.

All you who are really super hot and nasty on all the runs, think how much nicer it is to be sweaty and able to drink water than to have all your sweat freeze, along with the liquids you brought!

I think early morning is definitely the way to go...I was extremely comfortable my whole run, btu it's a scorcher out there now!

Meri - I don't think my coach would like it if I did one of those...I'll stick to just some road races. Although in the winter I do have a 10-mile race so I'm hoping to take a few more minutes off that PR.

Thanks everyone and enjoy the weekend!

Congrats on the AG wins, and for getting out there and doing it!

Was supposed to be a 4 mile recovery run today ... instead I did:
2 mile warmup, 1 mile of the 26x1 Marathon Cup relay that Arrojo talked me into doing, 1 mile cooldown. Did a 7:04 for the 4 laps. I could have gone faster, but I'm not good on the short distance and pacing always eludes me. I'm just really happy to have not choked and to have been able to kick it in the last 100M.

Muggy and overcast here in Atlanta today but I did my run at 1:00pm from my house to the local high school, around the track a few times and back for 6.5 miles in 1:06:19. The first 4 miles I used 4:1 run/walk breaks. The last two I ran back home without them.
