52.8 mile group/solo ride - Hi 17s.

Group ride was cut a bit short (40ish), so added on a few by myself at the end to go over 50 for the day.

Nice job regio!

10 miles early this morning with high humidity but decent temps. Felt good until around 8.5 then started to overheat and things started to get a little tight. Ice bath and compression tights when I got home hopefully did the trick. FINALLY was smart enough to not run race pace and took this one slow...very slow. Just under 12:00 pace. Hurray for sticking to the plan!

TEAM LIT gets out of the blocks nicely, with Reg and Sparty tackling some good distances!

Can't wait to watch the Tour de France on tape delay later. Unfortunately someone spoiled it for me. But with the dramatics, I'll still watch!

13 miles (roughly) on the Wapack Trail with my TransRockies 'mate in 3:19. Lot of peaks scaled and descended for much elevation change. Tired now but all nagging injuries held in check. We're really getting our pacing dialed in and being able to feel each other out for when we need breaks.

20+ min swim in mirror lake. Was disappointed with the 'lane line'. I was expecting a blue line painted on the lake that I'd be able to see when I was swimming. Got out and discovered a 1-inch gash in my wetsuit. Picked up some wetsuit glue at the expo and patched it today.

20+ min bike out past the ski jumps. Discovered my PowerTap wasn't working. Wasn't panicked because I can race without the PT, but it sure would be nice to have it after using it for training all year. Went to IM Bike Services because I didn't have a PT wrench to take the hub cover off. The wheel expert grabbed his chain whip and started taking the cog off. After about 30 sec I asked him why, he looked at me and re-tightend the cog and then proceeded to remove the PT hub cover. He also put my chain back on incorrectly. But he had the tools to get the hub cover off so we could replace the batteries, so all's well that end's well.

Bike is checked in, bags are at transition, I drove the bike course this afternoon. It's all over but the crying.

10K race this morning. New PR! Finished 4th in AG. This race brings out many of the fastest runners in the state. World class athletes Tera Moody and Colleen De Reuck were the top two women. Augustus Maiyo of the Army's World Class athlete program was tops overall at 30:01.

I ran well. Got off to a good start and maintained a strong pace throughout. There is one short steep hill at around 5.5 miles that always slows me down and I think it cost me my shot to go under 43. After that hill I gave it everything I had and came up just short. The PR feels nice though.

Opting for a DOR on account of day at the fair with the fam and some odd low back pain. It's better than it was yesterday, so hoping it will be better for tomorrow for a good brick workout and a day at the beach with some swimming.

then spent all day preparing for my Ironman celebration party. Ended up having about 70 people over!! OMG. I felt like I got to spend maybe 5minutes with each person, but people were mingling. Neighborhood people, 3 different tri groups, swim team, scout families, DW Sorority, DW Church group, and so on. It went GREAT. The Bouncy house + Wii + Xbox kept all the kids occupied (we had about 20+ ranging from 3 weeks to 17). The killed 3 cases of beer, 10 bottles of wine, 3 cases of water, 3 cases of soda, a CRAPLOAD of meat, unknown coolers, and we ended up with way more booze than we started with somehow!

got a nice sampling of polish beers from a tri buddy, those will be interesting!

whew. My feet were KILLING me by the end (8+ hrs) but it was a success. FIRST large party we've hosted in the time we've been in this house. I am fufulling my goal of being social (dammit!)
