Dougie - Solid workouts this week!

Yoshiko - what saves me is the routine. I do pretty well when I can get into a routine and just cruise and up here its all about routine. Up at 3 am (2 am if I have a long workout), workout, eat, morning meeting at 6:30 am, work till 6:30 pm, eat, read or watch tv, sleep by 7:30 pm. Repeat.

20 miles in 2:17, averaged 6:51 pace and it was all low to mid z2. Watched part of some Val Kilmer/Michael Douglas movie about lion hunting and ESPN.

Mike - your love for this sports is huge!!

Day 3 of no-kids life. I am so much more relaxed with no schedule to follow and no yelling to have them pick after them, etc.

Headed out to a state park w DH, where I swam about 30min with a bunch of my tri clubmates FIB 15 min run while he hit the sigletraxk there. Saw so many club mates I haven't seen for a while. It was great to catch up with them while they were getting ready for a ride. Yoga class later w him. A recovery day.

Have a great saturday!

It is a beautiful day here so I headed outside for my run instead of playing it safe on the tm. 3.5 mile easy run followed by icing my hammy. Now off to inlaws for lots of food, wine, croquet, and fireworks. The town is shooting them off in the big field right across the street from their house so we have a front row view and no parking hassles.

Enjoy the day!

Basic daily run today. I decided to give myself a break and not do the 5K. I've raced the past 4 weeks and have races the next several weeks, so a week off is probably a good idea. Still, there is a race on Monday???

Thor, the start of the TransRockies race is about 2 hours away from me. We may be going up in that area tomorrow because we're scouting a place for a mini-vacation sometime this summer. There are several natural hot springs with cabins we want to look at. Depending on my work schedule I may be able to come up there while you're here.

1200 yds in the outdoor pool this morning, 4 mile run with a decent hill before lunch, now gearing up to eat some food and get on the bike for 30 miles or so. Then around dinner time I promised my son I'd take him overnight backpacking, so that should be good for 3 miles or so of easy hiking.

Sounds like some really fun stuff planned for today!

Rode ~54 miles starting late this morning. Nice weather and very light traffic. Legs took like an hour before they didn't feel sort of dead. Great company. Overall, an enjoyable ride!

I realized last night that my first tri this season is two weeks from today and I haven't done any bike/run bricks. Ooops. So I started out with an easy brick- 38 mile ride and 1 mile run.

Then we washed the cars, had lunch and I took a nice little nap on the swing.

Second workout today. We were having a birthday party at the park for both Vicki and Donnie, so I ran over. It hasn't rained here in about a month, but midway through the party all of a sudden it let loose with a nasty hail storm, high wind and heavy rain. Kinda spoiled everything, so we packed it all up, came home and had the party there. It probably won't rain again for a month the way things have been going.

Warm/upper 70s - Cloudy and very windy. Ran from home over to Fountain Creek park. Mileage was exact - kinda rare. A little stretching after.
