Super icky this morning, like running through mud. Squeezed 10 miles out of my cement filled legs. I attribute it to the extra energy needed to cut through the thickest air ever.<br><br>
The first 5 miles, all i could think about was stopping, but then Snooze and I began arguing about something stupid (<i>discussing</i> is prolly a better word) and the last 5 went much more quickly.<br><br>
Happy running to everyone!

I wish I had you and Snooze down here to discuss with, Becca. We started our run at 6 am and it was disgusting outside, like running through pea soup. I, too, wanted to turn around after a mile. And we cut our run short at 6 miles instead of 7. Too hot!

Really nice here in MA this morning, no humidity. 18.22 miles, 2:46:06 with two friends before our running club meeting. Feeling pretty good considering the miles. Whoot!

21 miles for me-it was hard, very hard. My legs are sore but I feel pretty good. I started early but it was already getting hot by the time I finished. Note to self: Do NOT spray perfume on chafed areas<img alt="sad.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad.gif"> Great runs everyone-enjoy your weekend!

Today I did my first brick. It was actually only the second time on my bike, but I was hellbent on seeing what it was like this morning.<br><br>
I rode the bike 20 miles averaging just over 18 mph, which could've been better if I hadn't stopped 3 times to turn around in my driveway. I then ran 5.25 miles and like a friend told me I would, I felt like I was running really slow at first but lo and behold I wasn't. I averaged 7:42s on what was supposed to be a recovery run.<br><br>
I hope I have enough for my long run tomorrow. At least it's a short one.<br><br>
I also played miniature golf and went to the batting cages with the kids today. <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif"> Nap time. Who am I kidding, it's not nap time, it's BEER time!! <img alt="surprised.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/surprised.gif">ccasion5:

Well today was my longest run in almost two years. I've just finished week two of my route back to running. The temps were mid 80's but the humidity wasn't too bad.<br><br>
I ran on the bike trail that is shaded most of the way. The first three miles went by with no or little effort - however; the last mile seemed like forever. I knew it was really a mental thing.<br><br>
4 miles isn't alot; but I'm glad to have finally gotten back to this point. Still not timing the run; but guess-t-mates put it around 11min miles...<br><br><br>
Great day to all!<br><br><br>
Best,

It's been a long morning. Went to bed late, got up too early to go be a race volunteer. Did that until 9:30am and then headed out for my 12 mile run. It was hot and I was tired which = slow. At least I felt slow, it wasn't that bad I guess - 1:45:32. Got home and then had to rush out the door again to another commitment and now I home and ready for a nap! I've earned it.

Glad to hear it all worked out for you. I know you were concerned about volunteering and getting your run in. Get some rest, you deserve it.

I did me a brick today too. A little under 18 miles on the bike, pushing it a little on some of the hillier terrain in western Chicagoland, then 6-ish running. Starting to get the hang of it.

I ran a 13.58 in the Masters 100M at today's Bay State Games. Copped 3rd place, got a nice medal and a cool jacket to boot. <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"> The best part was that was my best 100 time in about 10 years.<br><br>
Then I did the Masters Long Jump. First time I've long jumped in 30 years (not counting the practice jumps I did last weekend). Jumped 14' 1 1/2 for 6th place. I actually nailed my 3rd jump out > 15, but fouled by a few inches.
