Headed to watch my parents in a 5k this morning, then bike tune up/clean up followed by a 10 mile easy recovery ride. Decatur Lakeside Tri tomorrow. I feel kinda bad....I just realized I owe you 3 race reports already and I've got my last 3 races the next 3 weeks in a row. Guess I better get busy.

Good luck to all racers!

Son1 will be joining me. He's currently in the entryway working on his bike. He sliced his tire but good. He didnt' flat from that. He flatted from a spoke nipple. Go figure. I still say Armadillos rock!

Went down to Chicago this morning and swam at Ohio street beach. First time there. Big triathlete hangout. Great swim, 1.74 miles, then ran downtown along the lake about 3 miles 7:20s pace. Beautful day. May get on the road bike in a bit. Then plan some yard work in the afternoon. I gotta get weeding!

I found myself lying on my back and staring at the ceiling at 5:30 this morning so I got up to run. 7 miles in the books. First workout after three unplanned rest days. We're taking Little BD to see the Lion King this afternoon. First BWay show we've seen since having the boy and I can't wait!

9.29 craptastic miles out of the 14 on the schedule.

The remaining 5 are going to have to be on the TM @ the gym.

Running really sux right now......slow, lumbering, last, and if I got hit by a car and were laying dead by the side of the road, the group that I started with wouldn't even know, that's how far behind I am.

3/4 mile run? Not sure since I just ran out with no garmin, just ran around a new loop and enjoyed the rainy run. Yes, I LOVE summertime rainy runs but do not do rainy bike rides!

2 loops IMOO

loop 1 2:28 (8min course PR actually) - Z2.. well, kinda. Avg was a couple above, 179watts. Not bad

loop 2 2:46 - SUPPOSED to be Z2 but I cannot even fudge that, it was square in Z3. 151watts. Suck. And it hurt. So less power, higher HR, and it felt like work - yeah, that blows. The heat was crucifying me. It was 86+ by the time I was starting loop 2 and I just sucked the energy out of me.

Overall 5:14 - 85 miles

I have a LOT of work to do before Cda. That's only a 15.63mph pace. :( Enough to finish, but not enough to satisfy my testosterone :D

1,000 yds in the pool as 2 x 5x100 at various paces.

Then a few hours later a 23 mile ride to the next town and back, aiming to set a new training PR. 83F and windy, though, so I figured it wouldn't happen. Pushed hard anyway and got the PR. Happy!

FIB 1 mile brick run, just for the practice. Very hot - not fun. Got home, guzzled down some chocolate milk, took a cold shower and a nap, and still feel a little queasy. I think I need a beer.

Well the training rides are always slower. You don't have stops, etc. Probably will have race wheels and aero helmet? Even going in z3 at the moo I never go fast as when I race it at a moderate pace.

Got in 25 mile bike in the early afternoon after the swim/run.

Today was one of "those" days where I learned that the taper crazies are A. Catchable, and B. catchable by non-living entities.

So, we were going to go visit a friend and their new baby, then I was planning to ride home, but the weather was predicting LOTS of downpours so I was planning to ride on the trainer later in the day. So we got up and drove to our friends where we parked and started looking at the house, and realized that the two of us couldn't remember which house. Yeah, it was 5 streets over. - ooops!

Then we did some shopping, etc. we drove home and I started to get ready to ride. Hm.. Flat - bike been on the trainer with the extra wheels. hm... ok, change tire, either get a pinch flat, or it's a bad tube - ti was pretty old, so that's two. I grabbed my race wheels and got on the trainer, and it went well, for the first 2 hours of 4.5. part of my not riding outside was due to the fact that I had a 'bad' feeling. In the past, these tend to be self fulfilling, so I rode 3 hours then did a 3 mile brick. All the resting has helped my leg heal a bit and it felt ok for the run. 14 days of doing the right things and i'll be ready!

I finished my last 5 miles....1 mi to and from gym, 3 mi on TM for entertainment and pacing help.

It was sprinkling when I started, so it was almost pleasant, but it was one of those rains where it really just get more sauna-esque than any type of cooling.

Yet another pile of sweaty clothes dripping in the bathroom.

113 Mile IMOO course( started east of the capitol...) First time riding the stem this year... those of you doing the race this year have one very nice stem to look forward too. All of that broken concrete around the highway 14 underpass is now gone! replaced with fresh asphalt!

Yeah, also my longest ride this year. And my hardest. And my hottest. So I guess I need to cut myself a break. But nah, I'm gonna be a hardass and tell me to HTFU

I'm mentally trying to prepare for IM now.. even though now I know I'm just starting to train
