Good morning, fellow Kicksters.

BBS -- Sorry to hear about the unplanned hiatus. Bet they made it seem like a good thing for you all, yes? Hope you can make the most of it and attend to family and health.

12 miles planned for today, with 3 at 9-11 beats below LT. That's what my training plan says, at least. Supposed to time it to check progress throughout training. Oh, and got a pair of Newtons for cheap that I'm eager to try out. I understand they're reported to be great shoes, but man, are they ugly!

Morning Roberto. A week off always sounds good considering how many hours I normally throw down... just wish it wasn't so abrupt. Good luck with the run

Me and a few friends are meeting up at the Red Loop this morning. Not to sound cocky, but I am the only one in the group that is in trail shape, so I will most likely be running solo most of the way. Not sure on distance, got 13 on the schedule but since its such a tough course, 10 may be the number today.

RE: Kellogg's- Its a Union plant, and this is a contract year. We get paid well at my job, and we have about the best insurance you could ask for (free, $0 co-pays, $10 specialist co-pays, $5 prescriptions- DD cost us a whopping $10). I'm sure this is a plot by the evil empire to scare us into selling our souls (C.O.L.A., insurance, alternative work sched., etc.). Blue collar work..

Good morning BBS and Chances. Just waiting for the sun to come up before heading out for my run. Not sure about the distance, but I am thinking about doing 6 today. Training for my first race of the year at the end of march starts Monday. Have a great morning everyone.

BBS- It is a 5k which is about 90% downhill. I am trying for sub 20 minutes, which on this course is possible.

I got in 6 miles today and my legs were tired. Now time for som rest and other stuff.

Uh... not the best run. Didn't have a whole lot of mojo. Same basic route as my last long run. Snow turned into sleet and winds picked up to 20mph. Talk about getting sandblasted. Bagged it at 10.5. I 'spose there's still time to switch to just the half???

And the saga continues. My sister has already signed up for an Ironman next month. One of those "gee this sounds fun" things. She's just challenged me to a duel--Ironman Kentucky. Uh, yah, I'm going to do an Ironman on six months training. NOT!!!

Hey all,

Just stirring to life here. I passed on an invitation to get up stupid early this morning...was really dragging after poor sleep Thursday night, early rise to swim Friday followed by full day of work. So I didn't set an alarm and just decided I wake up when I woke up, which turned out to be almost noon. Guess I needed it. But that mean's today's 14 will now be a late afternoon affair.

Chances - Newtons? You are truly a serious triathlete now. Seems like all the tri folks around here wear those or the K-Swiss line.

BBS - well done on the trail

Kevin - nice job on the 6

4bm - have fun playing in the snow later

Chances - Newtons? Did RunningDenver give you pep talk on them?

Hawk - hope th e14 went well

BBS - Unions - good and bad.

kfuller - shouldn't have had all that rest!

4boysmom - Ironman? Yeah, easy. Blabby flakes are the best.

5 thrilling miles on the treadmill. Decided I did not want to brave the 30mph wind gusts with temps in the 20s... I'll save that for the long run tomorrow.

IPhones, GPS.... I can't be bothered with that stuff -- especially when I already know the course and how long it is. Heck, I don't even wear a watch.

Gorgeous day in southern New Hampshire today, 43 and sunshine. A shorts run (long-sleeved shirt, though). Five miles. Good way to wrap up a week when I actually put in some upper-body work as well.

Good runs to you all.
