Millbot - Tom White is more intimidating in person than his picture would lead puddinghead to believe and I'm just plain ugly. P better be careful. Oh yeah, good run too!

I was just heading out the door to go workout when I logged on here and found out that one of my teamates for VRAA, SherpaJ, died last night from a massive heart attack. Holy crap! {{{{{{{SherpaJ's family}}}}}}

Wow, that really makes you think...

Great run mc. Dig the Chicago song reference.

Double zowie ksrunr! (I thought my husband was the only one who used zowie . . .) Very impressive last 2 miles!

Nice runs millbot, mc and pro. pro - 15 one week before?

mc - I hope so! My LR training has not been so great so I need ideal conditions. It's 85 right now in my little town and 87 in Hartford. Glad it was not today!

Okay, I'm tired...

24 miles biking, followed by 20 minutes of core/stretching, followed by a 1000 meter swim. Then 10 minutes spa soak. Ahh...

Although I've been given permission by my podiatrist to resume running on Monday, I'm still not sure I'm going to. My foot still has twinges of pain in the heel. I'm trying to figure out if it would be better to wait another week or not.

No prob it was an easy pace 14+ to be honest. Now you, you are being deceptively coy. Are you in for lunch? C'mon girl you are part of it now. Bring support.
oh my goodness Lab - that's unbelievable. I didn't know Sherpa at all - just familiar with the name. that is so sad.

I ran 15 miles this a.m. This is my longest run ever. I did 13 miles a few wks back with John. I started at 7:30 a.m. and it was probably around 40 - a little warmer than they predicted. I ran a 7.5 mile loop and then John met me at my car to do the second 7.5 mile loop. I'm glad John was there for my 2nd loop because I would have taken more walk breaks had I been alone. We only took one walk break and it was under 30 seconds, when we hit a small hill at about mile 1.75, so pretty early on. The rest we ran non stop, even when we came upon a few hills that I thought for sure I'd have to walk, but we didn't. Even picked up the pace during the last mile or so and felt okay during that. Ironically, I felt better after this run than when we did the 13 mile run. Not feeling sore or tight like before.

Mill - I'm glad you FINALLY got some rain.

Thanks Lab. This particular route has a couple hills towards the end of the loop and I still felt pretty strong. I'm sure I was whining about it -you'll have to ask John if I was, I tend to block those things out. But this was a good run for me today, I felt strong and I feel ready to do well on a flat course like Humboldt in a few wks.

Great run Tammy!! That running partner sure is helping ya, that is awesome.

Lab - so sorry about your teammate. Good news from the podiatrist. Maybe just a litte bit of running, or some run/walking to start out easy?

Going to jump on the treadmill in a few to do some run/walking myself.. slow & easy.

Nice run, Tammy. Those long runs qualify as hard efforts, no matter what Pro says, so it's encouraging that you're feeling good afterward. You have a good coach there. I'm sorry I can't say the same for John's coach, however.

Way to go Tammy!! Sounded like a strong effort. You'll do well at Humboldt.

DW and I made cushaw pies today -ended up with 14. The young boy next door helped with them more than I did.
Later he and I got his bike fixed up and we went over to the trail. He rode while I did 4+ recovery with a fast finish and cooldown.

It's has been a pleasant day.
Got on the treadmill today for another run/walk. Was pleasantly surprised I could run a little more - walked my 20 minute warmup & then did a 12R/1W twice & ran 9 minutes more - for 35 minutes of a run/walk or 2.1 miles.. slow & easy.. very happy to see some progress & on the comeback trail yet again.
