Good afternoon, TEAM LIT!

zojmn: Cak has it right. Try SmartWool socks or some such light wool sock. They rock.

Muffin Queen: "trying to get into the holiday spirit"? Girl, you should hang with me. I love the holidays. Love it. I've already watched every holiday special... Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, the Grinch, and more. If you are seriously in need of a holiday pick-me-up, slap old Frosty on the telly. If that doesn't perk you up... you are beyond hope!

10 (maybe 11) mile run early this very cold morning with one other. Fun run. We chatted the entire way, got done, and wondered where the time went. Yeah, it was one of those runs!

Thanks Thor will try to do that! So much to get done in such a short time is stressing me out.

45 minute run this a.m. with oldest niece for 4.13 miles. She can talk up a storm. Who knew 16 could have so much drama. Thankful that I am still cool with her and not embarassing to her yet. :)

mile 2 - 13:34 - 149hr avg

mile 3 - 13:12 - 152avg

mile 4 - 12:29 - 149avg

mile 5 - 12:08 - 160avg

Good run, body held up pretty well. Goal was 145-155 hr for first hour, then 155-165 for rest. I switch from "shuffle" to run right around 160 I've noticed. Feet move totally different.

I'm firing all different muscles with this new shoe/orthotic combo. 3 weeks in and it's progressing rapidly. My azz, hammies, quads, and calves are now in charge of running. And with the exception of my azz, those are all big strong well developed muscles. I'm loving it. I'm gonna have an azz at this rate ;-p

Mid length bike with an easy 20 minute run after. Managed 3 miles in just over 20 for a 6:55 pace. And the best part is that the effort level for that was low. Training's pretty much going unbelievably well right now

Later in the day I managed a 30min spin with one boy in the man cave

Then after dinner took the other boy and went to the gym, I got 2000yds in while he played in the other pool - I think he ended up with a harder workout :)

then we played hoops for 30min - which was the main thing he wanted to do at the gym, so I let him stay out past his bedtime and we had some great father/son time.

Seashore Nature Trail 50K for me. I thought I was escaping the snow by running in Va Beach. Not so! But, I had a great day. Ended up with a 32-minute 50K PR. Not too shabby!

12 hard miles.. Definitely a little aggressive for me, but I got through 12 miles 2:09 going "easy" when I could.. Last 2 miles hurt, but I'm back on the build
