Looks like I am first again. Hopefully everyone else is out putting in some big numbers.

Plan today was an 8 mile to 15K race. Problem is there was not a race of that distance to be found in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine or Vermont.

So I did the run as an individual time trial. It was warm and humid and I faded as the run went on.
Run Segments
Ran 8.65 miles this morning. First four miles were with a training group. Second four and 65/100 miles were with someone who just wanted some extra miles. Temps were 73 at 7:13am start with 74% humidity. We did 3 minute runs with 1 minute walk breaks.

Route was from Ansley Mall through Virginia Highland area, Amsterdam and then return via Monroe. Second route we altered a little but still kept to the Virginia Highland area, returning via St. Charles back to Piedmont Park to Monroe.

15 w/ 12 @ MP - Overall pace was 7:21. Did first 3 @ 8:00s, then averaged 7:12's over the last 12. I was hovering just over 7:00s for the first 9 miles but then it got too hot when I hit some exposed hillls. I'd have to say the run was a success. No more running for the weekend! Time for beer...after I sign my lease.

Well, my achilles wasn't bothering me when I woke up but sure enough when I started my run it started bothering me. It pretty much bothered me the whole time, but it was tolerable. I did 10 miles and by that point it wasn't bothering me nearly as much as when I started. I wanted to run further, but decided I better not overdo it, so I went over to the gym and used the elliptical for an hour instead of running more.

5 miles this morning, an out and back route. I must have woke up on the way back because I came back a minute faster than I went out.

Had a 5 mile recovery run planned, only did 2. Got a blister the other day on my heel from new shoes (same model I've been wearing too ) and my non-waterproof band-aids I tried to use today got all sweaty and started rolling off in the first mile. Didn't want to trash myself for tomorrow's 20 (I'll wear a blister pad and waterproof band-aids tomorrow!), so I bailed. Planning to ride my bike on the trainer later - don't feel like dealing with the heat outside.

Smart move Jen. If it wasn't there for you today, it probably was a good move to bag it ahead of the 20 tomorrow.

Let's hope for both of our sakes, that tomorrow brings some cooler/drier air. You've got 20. I've got 18 scheduled.

It's supposed to be much better tomorrow - at least cooler for sure!

Did 1/2 hour on the bike trainer, about 10 miles I'd say, along with 150 situps. Followed it up with a hole bunch of carb loading for tomorrow.
