Morning Kicksters,

Was up at 3:15 but didn't want to wake you. It's now 5:15 and I figured "Rise And Shine"

45 fall like degrees. A beautifully clear sky and what appears to be a full moon out there waiting for me to partake in it's awesomeness for 30 minutes.

Was pretty tired yesterday but feeling much better today.

Have a great weekend.

Dan, sounds like a nice run.

Internet problems and slacking on running have kept me off the site for awhile. I hope no one missed me too much.

Not sure what's going on with the running, if it is mental or physical, but I am struggling. Did a slow 6 miles today and it felt like a slog the whole time.

Well, I am not sure. But mr jebba has a theory which I think may be right. In May I injured my hip, and struggled with it for about 3 weeks. I think I expected to maintain my running levels, and couldn't, and kept wearing myself out and getting discouraged. Add that to heat and humidity in the summer, and I just burned myself out. But all summer I'll run a decent week (30 miles or so) and then a crappy week (14 miles or less). But it's only been a couple of weeks where I've really felt I had no energy to complete a run.

JEBBA!!! I was wondering about you! Hang in there. You'll find your mojo. It's probably hanging out with mine.

Dan--not a problem, I was already awake.

Had a weird dream this morning and woke in a panic. In this dream I was supposed to do an afternoon race. Friends/family stopped by and we had a big dinner. I was dressed in my running gear and someone asked me when my race started. I looked at the flier and realized I missed the 3:30PM start. Uh, yah.........

Son1 and I ran with the group fromt eh running store. Meh... I am NOT feeling well at all today, thanks to allergy meds yesterday. Ended up running solo IB and got lost. Son1 was running with a faster group and he, too, got lost. Not my best run. Not the way to kick off 'thon training!!!

Good morning everyone. I got out for an 8 mile run. My brother and I were ready glad to be done at 8 miles. Totals 8 miles in 1:11:15(8:54). Lots of elevetation gain in the first 3 miles and my legs are feeling it.

Mom- thon training too huh? Which one are u doin?

Kevin- sounds eeriely (is that a word?) creepy to me and JDs (my bro) run today..

Me and JD ran 10 on the trails this morning. We were supposed to go 11, but the last mile was all up hill and we were both on empty so we bailed. Maybe the hardest 'long run' I've ever done. Not sure why, dehydration didn't help, and I had some GI issues before the run... still got em now.

Good morning, everyone.

So, was sitting in the city square on travel yesterday, lamenting the lack of wi-fi, wondering what to do for a half hour. Fed a few pigeons. A very elderly lady, dressed head-to-toe in purple asked if she could share my bench. She introduced herself as "Marie." Clearly, she didn't approve of the pigeons -- called them "dirty." I responded they probably weren't any filthier than the top of my head, and confessed that I sometimes eat food off the floor. She squealed with a combination of wonder and revulsion at this. I shared some of my taffy with her (yes, I travel with taffy -- who doesn't?) something she'd never had before. Did she like it? "No, not very much." She said a friend of hers gives away newspapers nearby, and said she'd go get us two. She returned ten minutes later, empty handed. Her friend wasn't there today, so no papers. She delivered the news as though she was deeply afraid of disappointing me. That's okay, we can just talk.

So we did for awhile, sharing little bits of ourselves.

Got to remember sometimes to sit back, take a breath, open eyes and ears, and let life come to you.

Dan -- 35 minutes is great. Keep it up.

jebba! -- So glad to see you back. Do you know what it's like in here, alone, with these people? Sheesh! Good job getting out there.

4boys -- Funny dream! Had to re-read the last paragraph to realize that wasn't part of the dream . . .

Kevin -- Elevation? In SLC? Who knew? ;-) Great job.

BBS -- Great job on the tenner. How's training going?

Me -- 10K road fitness test on tap.

Nice running, pigeon (flying rat) feeding and getting lost.

DD woke screaming and didn't stop for a while. She magically recovered shortly afterwards. Fun start to the day. Anyway, got out for 7 or so miles with DD In BOB while DW is out on her long run.

Hey, RA. I wanted girls. I got boys. They're okay -- I wouldn't trade them. Well, maybe . . .

My "fitness test" was a total bust. 6:18, 6:18, 6:33, then blowup. Had to walk it in. Fitness just isn't improving this time around. Time, I fear to reevaluate my plans for 10/10 marathon.

Chances- Every run I do starts like this.... Do I run uphill to start or on the way home. Either way a flat run would be great once in a while.

BBS- I have had runs and races where I could have gone on for a while longer, but not today

Nice job on all the workouts everyone.
