Morning all

zrun- good luck today

Race day for me too. Looks like its not gonna be as cool as I originaly thought ~ 76* @ start time + high humidity today. I didn't take off work last night, just left early... so That gives me one excuse to put up my sleeve just in case I need it. Also, yesterday I did a bunch of work at one of my hunting spots and now my lower back is really sore.

Anyways, this race is where I got my 5K PR of 20:29 way back in 2009. Hoping to give that a run for its money today.

wow... crickets around here.

No freakin PR. I felt like I run a good race too.... My shins locked up on me and gave me problems most of the race. Looking at my Watch, I obviously ran too fast the 1st mile~6:25 (race started downhill). Didn't get passed by anyone, picked several High school kids off, caught up to 2nd and 3rd place about 2.5 miles in, but they had a lot more kick than me at the end.... If I could have hung w/ them I would have PRed. Drat. But it is what it is. Another year w/o a 5k PR. I can tell my legs are kinda toasted, tomorrow's race should be fun.

4th OA

1st AG

20:43 (not even a PR for the year, I ran the came exact time in April this year)

BBS - You gave it you're all. Can't believe you're running another tomorrow.

zrun - Good luck on your race.

No workout here. Thursday afternoon I was playing tug o war with this dog. Had lots of fun but woke yesterday and today with aching traps and stiff upper and lower back. Hopefully tomorrow.

BBS -- Very nice effort. Some days are like that. Any hardware for the AG placing?

Dan -- Funny how just a little overuse of a muscle group can do a number on us. Rest up.

Me -- Did six yesterday, then spent the day outdoors at the fair with the family. Very warm. Good time, but took a lots out of me. Thinking of a TM run today to beat the heat.

And I'm getting pretty excited for IM L'Ville, Dave!

Hey all. Race was a mess, delayed 90 minutes for weather and then driving rain the first half. I started off a little faster than 7:30 the first couple of miles, then it was a struggle after that. Felt ok aerobically but the leg turnover just stopped, especially on the uphills... I felt like I was crawling some of those. Wound up in 1:44:14 on my watch. Oh, well, back to the drawing board.

Nice runs all and catch you back home.

zrun - Bummer that the race didn't go as planned. Just one of those days w/ real nasty weather to boot. You running the Chicago HM?

BBS - Sounds like you weren't rested for the race. Congrats on the AG win and almost podium finish. Have fun tomorrow.

Chances - enjoy the TM as I know you love the symmetry of a machine.

Dan - that's accidental strength work.

I'm now planning for USRD on Saturdays due to DW's social schedule. Almost puked at CrossFit last night - Warm-up was squats, pushups, situps. WOD was 1 min all out on the rower -> 10 * hanging knee lifts -> 2*10 offset pushups -> 10 squat and press with bar. Rest 1 minute and repeat 3x. Finish with bar hangs and static chin ups. My lack of upper body strength really shows... The 20 miler on tap tomorrow should be fun...

Made it back from Madison with evertything intact, except my pride ;) Just to clarity, the race itself was incredibly well-run and organized with a pretty course, I would definitely recommend it. Other than the race itself, I had a great time. Took a half day and drove up with a buddy yesterday. Got to see a couple of friends I hadn't seen in years at a cool rooftop bar area overlooking one of the lakes. Once we got to the start and they announced the delay, we hunkered down in a nearby UW building and chatted with other runners about fall marathon plans and the like. The organizers were tweeting the weather status and expected delay so it wasn't all that stressful.

BBS - Congrats on the 1ag! That PR is going down soon.

Dan - rest up the aching muscles and have a good one

Chances - we keep meaning to go to one of the fair's around here, hope it was fun and that you got the 'mill in.

RA - that crossfit is really a blast, huh?

I got a late invite a couple of days ago to fill in as a replacement for a friend with tickets to see Queensryche (yes, Queensryche) tonight. Sure, why not.
