4 miles easy with a friend today. Came out to 33:46 and AHR of 136.

I wish I could get this guy to really train for something. He's a true natural athlete. Here's what I mean. He's 31 and hasn't worked out seriously since quitting college football his junior year due to a knee injury. Well, he decided to run the IL Half Marathon this year....8 weeks prior to the race (which took place in April). So, on 8 weeks of training, he finished with a time of 1:51:20, which comes out to an 8:29 pace. Personally, I think that's impressive. He's just got good genes I guess. Almost never works out and is still ripped. Looks like he could still suit up and play safety for a football team without missing a beat.

Ran with a buddy who is training for a fall marathon in the hopes of qualifying for Boston. The race is Sept 18 and a local running store will have a kiosk setup at the finish line so folks who qualify for Boston can sign up right after they finish.

Way to go Sparty!

Just 0.8mile ows today because I'm racing tomorrow. 30-40%raining with only upper 60's temp. Now what would I do.... I've been fully ready to tackle 90F weather. This race isn't an ordinary tri race - I'm not sure what they would do if there was a threat for thunder lightening....? There are 3 lakes we will swim across... Yikes.

Sparty...you crack me up. And I'm pretty sure Mike is part cheetah, so that may explain it.

Local-ish sprint tri today - second in the 2-race series. Had some good, clean fun, as my racing buddy Cindy would say. Per my watch, almost 2 minutes faster this month - yahoo! No chip timing, but they do call out the swim time as you get out of the water...I was really surprised to hear I was 15 seconds slower than July even though I felt way better this time. Weird! Anywho...much more efficient on both transitions, bike went as expected (pretty much same as July) and I think I made up the time on the run. Just felt like I had more oomph in me today than last month.

Best part was DH and the little otters were there...so great to have them out there!!

Thought of Team LIT a lot...you guys really keep me motivated to keep training and racing. I appreciate it!!!
