Morning all no running for me today.

It's a fix up the yard paint day.

Going out for 13 tomorrow

Pace Sonds like the rockbridge run would be fun and hard. I'm doing the half at the KC marathon that weekend.

Are you a member of Midamerica runners? DD is thinking of joining up?

Good races and runs for all

PS as to posting daily runs etc. I tink you'll find the daily run report forum to be small and friendly just like the B+B thread. I always dualed my reports in both. It's nice to "make friends" with some of the youngsters too.

Hi Kickers!
You know us old guys hate change... but we'll give it a go, maybe.

I was thinking about you Pro during my 20 miler today. After guzzling all that fluid after mile 11 when we ran on the cape, it got me thining. What if I stash an extra 32 oz bottle of water at mile 12 for my run. Well I did and I guzzled about 20 oz in like 2 sec flat and instantly had so much energy. I didn't even touch the gels or e-caps I brought. Water, just water, and lots of it. That's the secret.

A picture is woth a thousand words:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...DF9-8-2007.jpg

I'll post my run in the "proper spot" (if I can find it..)

Hello everyone-I just finished the 13th Annual ARC 5k or half marathon-whichever. Glad I didn't sign up for the half-it rained right before the gun went off and it got too damn hot! I wasn't prepared for the race period! My time reflected the lack of preparation. whine, whine, whine. I'll get em at next week's Bud Run!

Have a great weekend all!

Hey all!

I took Puddinhead the semi-wonder-dog for a run this morning and she wanted to turn around after ¾ mile. Usually she's good for 3-4 miles no problem, and I was going to try 5 with her today. I guess she's listening to her body.

So sans dog I did a 13-mile progression run (9:50-7:50/mi, then a final 7:10 mile).

Good runs to you all. Since I can't post a race report here I won't tell you I won a small 5k race today in Kingsville. It was a benefit for local cub scouts and diabetes. It was the first year for this race and the cub scouts couldn't get out of bed to help/volunteer? So 2 places on course were not marked well and no one to help. Ran a 19:05 which is only 16 secs of my masters pr. Heat and humidity and lack of wind made it miserable. Legs were and are still sore from 12 miler yesterday. Will try for my pr in Oct when it finally cools off.

Too good of time at the Roots n' Blues 'n BBQ fest. Headed back tonight. Got out this morning for long-run of 20-miles. I have another to do tomorrow. Will life and the pursuit of good times interfere with training?

Road Hawk: I'm not a member of MMRR. They are a great group. They have a yahoo group which is great to keep up with the running community here. Your DD might also check out the Multi-sport club. It is a huge group of talented, dedicated people that do many activities and events throughout the year. They are also the defending National Club Champions. Another organization is the Columbia Track Club. Only $20.00 and several races are no charge with CTC membership. One hour run on 9/22 is free with membership.

You'll have to hide it better than that, Lou.

p2r, you're a mileage maniac! Goals for the 50K?

ksrunr, if you had reported your race, I would offer your a hearty congratulations on the win. Today's race (losing your way (twice) + H&H + LR soreness + 16 seconds off your PR) = a big PR in October!

I don't post here too often - though that may change down the road. I didn't care for the topic of one thread and certain other constraints along with being confused - though the last might be an age thing.
Anyway, I haven't been able to ykw very well for a couple weeks now because of some bursitis.
I'll continue to look in and maybe post....we'll see how it goes.

Nice 5K time Ksrunr!!

I ran a 10K race this a.m. (since I've been talking about it nonstop for the last couple days, I'm sure you all know that! LOL )

I'll be a good girl and post it in the race report forum. Plus, it's posted at CR, so most of you will probably see it there.

off to my shower now! Have a great day everyone!

Half time of the Oregon Michigan game, Oregon 32 Michigan 7.... Yes you read that right. Oregon is embarrasing them badly in the big house. We got big gains using not only the statue of liberty play, but a FAKE statue of liberty play. They keep showing the fans in the big house in a state of shock!!

John Rocks!! You did an awesome job today. If you are knocking 2 min off your PR each subsequent 5K, then it won't be long before you are sub 20!
