Good Morning All -

Rest day for me today after yesterday's run.

I just wanted to start the thread to wish Perch and JJJ good luck in their races today - and any other racers!

Tamster - Have a great run with Johnny! This is your longest run ever? Let us know how it goes!

I think I saw this elsewhere: Happy Birthday Sans Souci & Johnny (and BTY if your still over here)

SS - I have a 16, three 16.5's, two 18's, then 20.5, 22.2 and yesterday's 23 with the big walk section. My 22.2 miler was also on a warm day and I struggled home on the last few miles. I am definitely not a warm weather runner. But I'm thinking at this point, I might as well do it if the weather's decent. I'm not getting any younger

I just remember when I woke this morning that I left my shirt during my run in my friend's newspaper box - where my water stop was. I went back later in the day to get my empties from the mailbox, but forgot about the shirt. . . I hope their newspaper isn't too stanky!

Rest day for me too today. I have to work so I'm going to take 1/2 of a yoga class and then drive quickly over to my office nearby. Tomorrow will be the last 30 min run of week 2 of the 60 minute program. Yesterday's run was great & hopefully tomorrow's will be too. I still have this stupid virus where my tongue feels lumpy & I get chills and congested every afternoon & evening. When I take a tylenol and/or mild decongestant, I feel better. But it's kind of dragging me down. This is the 4th day feeling like this, argh.

Tomorrow we plan to bring the dogs to a special off-leash dog park in the afternoon if it's not too hot out.

Good runs to everyone this weekend, and best of luck to those racing!

Morning Pink, that's hysterical that you are leaving pieces of your wardrobe around town.
Congrats to Grandpa Tom and DD, welcome to the world baby Claire!
{{{{{{Rinda}}}}}}} you are an inspiration the way you keep fighting this.
Perch and JJ, can't wait to read the reports. Kick BUTT!
Happy Birthday SS and John.
Lab, I saw the body exhibit here in NYC, neat stuff. Let us know how you liked it.
I am inspired by this woman from the Clubhouse. She has a disabled child and went on to have more children which in itself takes so much courage. She is such a sweet person, always upbeat. If you are inclined to giving to charities her marathon team is a good one.
http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/Fo...L/160884.shtml

I may go for a run, I am supposed to be atoning for my sins today. I'm pretty sure that means no computer time too. Oh well.

geez, first tammy's rack, now pink is stripping and mailing her undergarments to her neighbors. maybe hanging out with the "real" runners on cr isn't all what it's cracked up to be...

basically no sleep as poor protosun crawled into bed, tossed and turned, had a bodily fluid accident, and then started snoring away peacefully just as my alarm went off. uggg. should i run the 5k time trial or go back to sleep? ok, run it is. she did tell me that she had a fun dream about being on a really big playground and playing some instrument and having one of her friends from school listen... glad one of us had a dream.

still haven't heard about ss's track workouts. such the teaser.

don't worry lab, september's almost over, and with it goes my vow of puppy dog and flowery posting

good luck jjj and perch!

What's this about tammy's rack?

Easy five miler today. Well, the temps have climbed again, it's humid, and my legs are tired from yesterday, so it wasn't as easy as it should have been.

Best of luck to Perch, jjj and any other weekend racers.

What's this about birthdays for SS and Johnny?

Good luck to Perch and TripleJ!

{{Rinda & Riley}} I hope you're both feeling better soon.

No running for me today. My hip is feeling much better, so I'm hopeful that I can run tomorrow with no ill effects. Might take a bike ride today with the kids and DH.

TW, have fun spoiling the new grandbaby. I hope your daughter heals up quickly - it hurts me just thinking about it.

Have a nice Saturday!

Greetings all. I should have run early, but those late night poker games are more tiring than they used to be. The plan for the day is 9 miles, 6 of the easy variety and the last 3 with a little push. After the run, it's off to tailgate and attend the Vol football game.

Hope perch and tripleJ had fleet feet this morning on the trails.

tomwhite.......Claire is indeed a great name. Kiss her for me too. First impressions are important, so dont' wear that new racing shirt. Oh wait, you gave that away. You'll be fine.

pink.....that last long run was just going to wear you down anyway. You got in 20 and that's plenty with your other long runs. You're good to go.

hally...if you can atone for all your sins in one day, I need to find out about your religion.

Have a great Saturday everyone. Rack em if you got em.

WRFB - pay no attention to this "rack" talk. I think a few pirates around here got into the rum bottle again and kept celebrating pirate day into the day they should have been talking like adults. sheesh - it's like a bunch of adolescents around here sometimes!

Pink - yes, this will "sort of" be my longest run. I did run a half marathon in May, but I've never done a training run longer than 11.5 before. So this will be my longest training run. I have one more training run planned for 14-15 that I'll do in two weeks and then that's it for long runs prior to the HM on 10/21.

I had a bowl of oatmeal this a.m., now I'm having a latte. I thought I had a Gu in my gym bag but I don't. I have a few sport beans, so I guess I'll take those on my long run today. it's easier to fit sport beans into my little shorts pocket than a packet of Gu anyways. Off to DS's soccer game soon, then meeting up with the birthday boy. Won't be home til late afternoon, so I'll catch y'all later!

Pink, you sound ready to go to me! I don't like warm weather running either.

{{{mcsolar's sleepless night}}} I had a rough one too with too many wild thoughts swirling around my pea brain. I think we both should take a nap today.

Best of luck to Perch and Triple Jay.

I would LOVE to see that body exhibit. Cool stuff...

Oh, ran 8 miles with 2 lady friends. Cool and crisp in Montana.

Another Oh... Tammy, good luck getting the God's to keep their minds off racks! LOL

Hello to all & thanks for the BD wishes. Somehow 57 sounds so much older than 56, maybe it's time to start acting like a serious adult for a change ...........nah, maybe next year .

tomwhite - make sure you get some granddaughter pix to post for us. I agree, Claire is an excellant name.

{{{Rindaroo]]]

Good Six Peanut Morning to You! (That's the number of peanuts the Stellar Jays received this morning. Three each. Spoiling them today.)

Tammy and John, enjoy your run today. Tam, don't worry too much about the fuel; you'll experiment and get it right as you do more M-LRs.

Pink, I'm glad the M is a go! You'll be great. You're a very strong runner.

Millbot, 16M, eh? How'd that go?

mc, tease? Spill on the 5k TT. (The first track workout says 2(5x200) S4 [whatever that means], equal jog recovery, 200=44 secs.) (((protosun))), a snorer?

thanks for the peek ss. i'll show you mine now 8mi w/ 5k tt 19:07 (6:09). same pace as the 2x2mi workout i did tuesday; i guessed i've got the dial set for that speed. was hoping to bust 19, but didn't have enough mental energy this morning. did beat the fast woman in our group, and i didn't get passed by any 11 y/o boys at the 2.5 mile mark.

Nice runs there, tomwhite, choovie, SS, mc.

I just wanted to remind everyone who started talking racks yesterday.

Hey there, SS. This run was supposed to be long slow distance, a break from the progression runs I've been doing. But I can't seem to help picking up the pace near the end. Call it 11 miles of LSD and 5 miles of not-so-LSD.

I did 6 yesterday and booked to Dad's weekend at DD's sorority in Columbia MO this weekend. I moved my long run up a day so we coud go out together. I have no idea how she could throttle down to run 10.6 at 10:30 with me but she did and we had fun.

I know a couple of you live here. I am jealous. We ran on the MKT trail. The trail system here is fantastic. I'm coming back in a couple of weeks to run a half.

Peace

Road Hawk, The MKT trail is a great place to run! I used to live in Sedalia, (about 70 miles from Columbia) and it was my favorite place to run! Miles and miles of beautiful country! I still run there when I go back! I love all the wildlife I see on that trail!

Glad you enjoyed it!
