Good morning everyone,

A bit colder that I thought that it was going to be this morning so I didn't put gloves on and came back with frozen fingers....going into the 70's today

10.14 miles of hills @ 9:07 pace.

Good running to everyone today.

Pete - 70's? Nice run.
4 inches of new snow this morning, but I'm a wimp in the winter anyway, so it's the treadmill for me.

I haven't been able to run very well since I had that "flu" in February. So I ran very little for the past two weeks. I guess I'm starting over - again.

3 miles for me - my "long run" this morning in 32:44.

Good runs all.

No running for me today...my day off. I did however sneak in 3.25 miles yesterday afternoon. I am almost always a pre-dawn runner, so it was a bitch. Along with the bruised chest and tired legs it was a slogfest. 8:30/mi pace.

Todd....you must be running through some tough neighborhoods to be taking such a beating.

The stairstep method of grading is still a valid educational tool.

Nice outing pegruns. Hope you are past the bug. Good runs Peter and anachrotech.

Lovely morning here in East Tennessee. Should be in the 60's today with lots of sunshine. Had a quite bothersome ankle on the run last night, so I'll ice it a couple of times today and hope it allows me to run this evening. Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Peg and anach, sounds like the flu took a good hold of you.
Good luck with the ankle Pie.
How cold could it be there Peter if it's going into the 70'S??

Sending Econo a nice ripe brie to go with that whine.

Oh goodie -- a small group so far, nice and cozy.

Peter -- that's a nice MLR post-marathon recovery.
Econo -- that time of year, huh.
Pegruns -- glad you're better finally!
Anachrotech -- sounds like that flu was a bugger. Patience.
((Todd))'s sore chest.

Up early and no place to go. Watched "Enchanted" on DVD with the DD last night. Much cuter than I thought it would be. I'd planned on getting up to run, but the alarm went off and the body said no. So, went back to sleep and am skipping my long run with the group. Wish I could figure out what is going on with me. I'm sure it's just the crud we've had in the house slowing making it's way through, but thinking if maybe I should have my iron levels again. Feeling a bit like I felt last spring when they were very low and I could hardly get out of bed.

I may run an easy 7 later if I feel perkier. Hoping to meet arf, Dive and Tet at the Pink Door tonight. Will have to be a quick dinner if I make it. I will be so disappointed if I don't.

Good morning and good running, Kicksters!

eta: morning to you, too, hally, pie and Tim! The puter is sloooow this a.m. and just gave it a good boot.

Good morning,

Great run Tim, during yesterdays run I saw a roadrunner, glad he was running perpendicular to me instead of pacing me . I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid growing up in western Oklahoma.

This morning I ran with the OKC running club for their training run that they organize for the OKC MM. A nice 20 miler @ 9:30/mile pace on the marathon course.

Have a great weekend.

Morning all. That stomach bug is nasty this year isn't it? Glad Peg & anachro are back on their feet. Nice run for Tim - Boston awaits! Econo - parole yourself and go for a short run!

The local running store sponsors group training runs for our local "big" race (1400 finishers). It's a 10 miler with lots of hills so it's called the Mt. Goat. Today was the 1st of the 6 training runs. So a hilly 10 miles at 7:33p. Fell in with a tough crowd and they made me work harder than I planned. A glorious morning, 24F, wind chill in the teens but the sun was shining. Good times, good friends.

Enjoy the day folks.

Alrighty then...here is the scoop.

Wednesday morning, predawn as usual. I was sticking to the roads instead of my usual trail. I 'thought' the sidewalk would be safe. I navigated a largish patch of ice just fine. I looked up to see what was ahead near the next street light and missed a pile of frozen slush. I hit it and came crashing down on my hands. Saved my face, but must have hit my chest. I do remember brushing off my chest, but it didnt hurt at the moment. At least I don't remember it hurting too bad. 3 hrs later it was aching. Since then it is s-l-o-w-l-y getting less painful. I just 'had' to get out there and do a run so as not to have a blank in my workout spreadsheet. I guess I am just too anal about that.

Good day, all.
Still cold here, 20s in the morning. I got in five miles, trying a new course. Out-and-back, with the "out" being up and the "back" being down.
I needed this one. Crappy 3-milere Wednesday, day off Thursday and another crappy 3-miler yesterday.

Good runs, all

Good to see you posting again, Anachrotech.

OK, I couldn't help it...

2 mile warmup
1 mile chip-timed race on the roads, 5:08, 2nd overall out of 102, 1st master.
Highly skeptical that the course measured a full mile, but still.
That felt good!

25 min later, I jumped in the 5k and did it as a progressive tempo-type effort in 21:24 (first mile in 7:12, 2nd in 7:06, last mile in 6:25). CassDad finished 2nd in the 70+ AG in 30:13.

2 mile c/d to make 8 total.

Have good runs, everyone.

If the weather in Eugene is as nice as it is in Portland today, your whine is totally justified. Can you grade tomorrow when the weather is supposed to be nasty?

Nice 1 mile race there CassDave. And kudos for not going overboard on the following 5K.

((((((((((Soundie))))))))) I hope you get your mojo back soon.

11 miles for me at exactly 9:00/mi in the sunny 29°F. Ran with the new running club that my gym is trying to start-up, so the miles were a bit slower than normal for me (a good thing I believe), but much more enjoyable since I had people to talk with.

6 easy treadmill miles today in 56 minutes.

Taking a rest day yesterday did wonders as I felt great today. I really felt like pushing the pace but decided to save the energy for tomorrow's LR with fast finish MP.

Holy carp, great run, Dave! You've got some kind of confidence to be running that pace after what happened the last time you tried it.

After a workout on the elliptical, I took a chance and did a mile on the TM (at less than half Dave's pace!). I could "feel it" where I've had the injury problem, but it eased off and on and didn't get any worse. And no pain since, or at least so far. Maybe a good sign.

Was supposed to be a marathon-paced run today, but I felt pretty sproinky, so I ended up going faster than I was s'posed to. 6.25 miles in 50:08 (8:01 pace). I did stop to watch a beaver in Clay Pit Pond as I passed by the Alewife T-stop. I never knew there were beaver in there!

Resting up now for my 20-miler tomorrow.
