Nice drudging of rain over this last week made for an adventurous 10 mile run (nearly swim) over the fields and by the river this morning. Real muscle sapping stuff in places.

Good luck to our racers.

Since I RESTED on Thursday instead of doing my scheduled LR (did Mari leave already? rats!), I've got at least 6 miles I've got to catch up on today to make my minimum of 20 miles for the week. When I told Mr. OrangeMat this last night, saying my planned total for the week was actually 24, he said why not do 10 today then? He's such a gem....

Teaching this morning at 8am, then family/community obligations until at least 2pm, which includes a sitdown lunch, so we'll see if I'll have the motivation to get out there this afternoon for any sort of run. Should I try solarmix2 again? I don't know, I'm starting to get scared myself....

Good runs to all and best of luck to all the racers!

Mariposai! Hold the plane for one last entry!

I have to go to my yearly soccer ref recertification today. Oh boy. There are two ways to make it more interesting 1) Go read up on rule changes, latest advice, and new situation requiring interpretation, or 2) Go in stupid and be challenged. Since I have 40 min, I guess I'll pick 2.

No run today since I ran yesterday and I am in every other day start up mode. To bad cuz tomorrow is gonna be 10-20 deg for a high.

I got out for an easy run this morning...it was 27 degrees and clear, and I'm trying to make the best of any run-able days. 6.29 miles in 57:12 (9:05 pace). There were a few icy patches on the bike path that I walked slowly over, but for the most part it was a fairly easy run.

But the best part of all is that I saw LaT along the way!

--Robin

Not cold enough today to go for a more-miles-than-degrees run, so I guess I'll have to wait for tomorrow morning, early.

Good running to everyone!

I think I might venture out & run -- to avoid one of those more miles than degrees runs tomorrow (arctic temps coming!).

here's a race photo -- this is right before the finish line, after passing Tallrunner's cousin, Mediumheightrunner. Of course, I also look dreadful in the mile 5 photo, but oh well!

http://www.backprint.com/view_user_p...&SUB=0&BIB=375

Hi, everybody.
Nice end to a tough week. Six miles today, my longest effort since Dec. 22 (also six). Hopefully I can start building up now.
Only three runs, 13 miles for the week. Yes, a weak week.

Is Elaine3112 the former ElaineVT in CR? She's a hoot.

Good runs, all

Mustang Sally beetles off to the weatheroffice.com page to check the forecast

Econo, I really like that photo.

It has a liminal quality that is haunting and beautiful - and you look like a woman who's about to smash her PR. That one is a keeper.

I'm in "what to do, what to do..." mode. I'm harbouring a cold virus that is sticking its little paws into my throat, making it scratchy. I have a 90-min MLR booked for today, EZPZ. Am also hoping to go skiing tomorrow. With a certain KR celebrity.

Weather today, 43, and rainnnnn. Tomorrow, 33, sunny.
Damn the torpedoes? Run today, ski tomorrow? Bag the skiing, rest today and hope to be in running condition tomorrow? Crawl under the blankets and withdraw for the weekend? Oh, dear, oh, dear. Must meditate on this, and then call North of here to let a Sertain Someone know my plans.

6.5 miles this morning in 14 degrees. Weather channel said we had a 0 wind chill, but it didn't feel like it. I had the wind at my back on my return and got a little too warm. A good run over all though.

Econo, I like your picture.

Good luck racers!

20 miles in 40F rain then drizzle. Last 12 miles averaged 8:35 pace. Tory ran first 8 miles. Felt greta at the end .
Gonna be icy tomorrow morning

Here's the elevation profile. This should be good Boston prep!

Cheers to the brave souls who went out for a run today. As for me...I slept in -my wings were tired after all the rest hugs I gave yesterday . After a great breakfast in bed provided by DH, it took me until now to be able to run. This was only a 6 miler for me on the mill.

SkipAZ. Nice to see you here.

Butterfly hugs to OM, ThePro, Roachrunner and tomwhite for RESTing today.

Off to do more packing, then to the pedicurist to have the nails and tosies done.

Good morning.

Econo, I like the photo too.

Nice run Perch. My run today would have a similar elevation profile as yours. Nothing like running into a hole and then having to run out of it. All I can say is "thank god for running friends" or I might not have made it outside today. We ran in a couple inches of snow and had a 24 mph snowy headwind for the first half. Footing wasn't too bad but I am sure my legs will feel it tomorrow. Second half we ran 1 mpm faster even though we were climbing so ended with a nice negative split thanks to the wind at our back. All-in-all we had a great time!

*felt like* 1 degree
6 miles, 1:07, with plenty of walk breaks.

About 47 degrees, clear sky with sunshine, 5-7 mph breeze - just lovely for my first 6 mile outing in years and years. Haven't done that distance since I did 10Ks in my 20's. Danged ol' side stitch for the last 1.5 miles though.

Good afternoon All,

Econo - great photo. You look comfortable and in control.
Sally - choose wisely. I'm just getting over a cold myself. Or bodies are trying to tell us something...

Nice runs Peter, Robin, Goofy Mike, Baba (LR!), Shadow (Brrr!), Perch, Choovie, and all who follow!

Thanks to some rest and OTC meds, the cold symptoms are mostly gone - just a little chest congestion left. So I did my scheduled LR (16 miles, 2:23:20, 8:57 pace overall) - not very sproinky, but I'm pleased that it was comfortable the whole way. Otherwise I could only manage 1 run @ 4 miles this week.

Celebrate this day!

Mike
