Today I got out for 8.12 miles on the Salt Lake City Marathon course. We got to see the leaders and lots of other runners. I think the leaders could have finished around 2 hrs 20 or so. My run was good 1:10:56(8:44). It was nice and relaxed as we were cheering on the marathon runners and not paying much attention to how fast we were running. Overall all it was a nice run.

kfuller - nice job on the marathon miles

My race was a wet and windy affair on the Chicago northside lakefront. 45F. I ran a pretty even pace but struggled into the wind late in the race. Finished in around 66:17 off a 66 min best case goal. Not a great performance but about right

RA, awesome race, only 9 secs difference for the first 8 miles between your fastest and slowest miles with something left at the end... you're like a metronome!

kfuller - Sounds like a fun time on the course.

I think we were a little warmer out here, maybe 50, and after my run in the 25-30mph winds yesterday today felt downright calm. After a 3 mile warmup where I wasn't feeling particularly great, I did not take it out too hard and my splits were 8:01, 7:41, 7:55, 7:49, 7:46, 7:34, 1:31 for 48:19 altogether. I think the course was set up with 1,3,5 fairly uphill and 2,4,6 fairly downhill so it's more even than it looks. Not a ton of zip in my legs but to be expected with not having done any speedwork the last few months. Probably around 90% effort and no real expectations, it gives me an idea of where I am and felt good to go a little harder for a change. With a multistage cooldown before and after the pancake breakfast I got in just shy of 13 altogether. I got a 25k on May 7th next.

Hope the storms holds off and everyone has a nice weekend.

Nice running out there today. I was put for the Dairy Dash 5k and 10k. Finished the 5k in 23:39, 2nd in my age group. Slowed down for the 10k and and finished in 51 something. I was surprised to see I got second age group for that one, too.

Happy Saturday all,

Nothing for me yet. It's a soaker around here so probably TM session awaits later. Soccer is on the schedule tomorrow but probably won't happen if the field gets too drenched today.

Nice racing by our Chicago crew.

sounds like a fun day of marathon watching, Kevin.

Looks like you are picking up right where you left with TNT, Apple. Nice job.

Not so fun spin this afternoon. 50*, overcast, with 28mph wind. Opted for Mill Loop, hoping for 3laps. Winds were brutal. Just couldn't get anything going. As I was finishing lap2 it started raining. Took that as a sign to call it a day. 34miles.
