That date looks wrong to me, but I know it looks right to some of you, so I thought I'd give it a whirl! just sitting here drinking my coffee and waiting for DH to come in from the hottub. He gets a nice back massage this morning so is using the hottub first to loosen up all the muscles.

no running for me (yet), so probaby have no business starting a daily. I'll likely head out for a run later though. Today is a local race that I normally run in, but since I'm running a HM next Saturday and then a Turkey Trot on T'giving morning, I decided to skp this years race.

I don't have much going as far as plans this weekend - thinking of making some fajita chili and cornbread later. Gotta finish making a set of curtains for my sons room (with OSU fabric to match his quilt and pillow cases). And it's officially time to put away the summer clothes and get out the winter stuff...revamp the closet....

Morning, Tammy! Morning, all.

Em, Lab and evan, some of the men remark about, uh, well, "problems" doing poses like Bow or Eagle. I think if you lost balance and fell doing Eagle, presto change-o, no operation necessary!

Hi ladies.

Very windy and overcast here this morning. Temps mid 50's with high humidity. 90 mins this morning with 4 mile tempo towards the end. Goal was 7:00 pace Ran first mile with wind. Second mile half with wind and half against. Third and fourth straight into it. Still very close to goals so it was a good day.

Evan - that snow Laura was mentioning was so far Northwest TX we don't even consider them Texans. \

Lab - I'm sure your surgery was easier than what SS would have you do. "Hang" in there.............:)

Ok, ksrunr, that makes sense. Sorta like we hardly like to call Anchorageites Alaskans. (as my dad would say, you can almost see Alaska from there!)

Nice molasses run, Sans! I swear some of those yoga moves you and Orange Mat can do would tie me in knots for weeks. I've always said I want to get into doing some yoga, but hardly know where to start. DH and I are both pretty inflexible (talking physically, not socially... heh) and I think it would do us a world of good. We just don't do it. Maybe with this year's winter commitment to not so much running would be a good time to jump in? Where would you suggest a couple of middle aged wound-too-tightly-in-the-hamstrings folks to start out?

So it seems just when all the stars fall into place (DH and DS2 gone for the weekend, mild temps, time on my hands, perfectly cleared bikepaths), it starts snowing. We could get a couple inches today, which really isn't much and I shouldn't whine about it, but just when it's all "perfect," it has to go and snow. I guess it's cold enough out that ice/slick stuff won't be a problem, it's just you don't have the nice solid push-off footing as when it's clear. *sigh* ok, I'll stick to my plan of a mid-day run, but I think I'll drive up to campus to do it. Best footing on those bikepaths.

Does anyone do the mirc chats anymore? I've lost the bookmark for that. It used to be in MustangSally's signature line, but I'm not even sure anyone does it anymore. I miss those days. (yeah, and now I've got the time to do it!)

Good Afternoon!

Went for what felt like a molasses run here too late morning as it was in the 30's early and since it's suppose to hit 60's, thought I'd go in warmer temps. Just feeling wiped out the last couple of days. 10 miles followed by .8m bf.

Glad to hear you're on the mend Econo!

Fajita chili and cornbread sounds delish Tammy!

I miss our chat party's also, Erika. We need to plan one again sometime. Although if you were on FB, there is a chat feature there that makes it easy. maybe that is where the instant chatting has gone.

I'm highly upset - the Beaver game is only on Versus today and our package with Dish doesn't include versus. I am switching to Direct but installation isn't until Thursday. And comparable package I'm getting at Direct includes versus. doesn't help today though. . .

Tammy, the OSU game is on FSN at 1:00 pm. The Ducks are on Versus at 4:30 pm.
No pain at all from yesterday's procedure. The last time I clipped my toenails hurt worse.
Just waiting until noon so I can open my first beer. I'm going to take full advantage of my couch potato status!

Afternoon all.

It was beautiful weather for a run this morning. An early loop of the lake with my running group for 9.4 miles, then Opie met me and I ran an additional 5 miles with him. It was good to catch up on some of the goings on around here, catch another perspective on Dove's amazing run, and it was especiallly great to see him out running again.

Now it's time to do some Fall outdoor chores around the house before settling in for our OSU and OU football games here.

Have a great weekend.

Hi all!

Glad that went well, Lab! SS's yoga suggestions were making even me cringe!

It's drop dead gorgeous fall weather here, too! Sunny and ~6°C cool for the start of my trail LR with my training partner Joe. We made lots of short stops for navigation, adjusting one metatarsal pad, water bottle changeouts etc. and got in a nice slow and very hilly 11.2 miles thru the fallen leaves. Mountainbikers were everywhere, but we were the only runners at this particular tract.

Anybody notice all the smilies we have now? Cewl!

Nice run, Heme.

Glad it's done and it was painless, Lab. Good choice of recovery beverage.

It's drop dead gorgeous here, too. I did my first run since my race, 40 minutes slow. I'm really craving a good long run.

Too nice to be inside on the computer, but I'm waiting until my charge wakes up from his nap so we can go back outside and catch leaves falling from the bright, blue sky... and pound acorns and walnuts with our hammers.

I want to hang out with FF and her little charge. What can be better than napping and then bashing acorns and walnuts. Sounds delightful!

Went running this morning when it was only 25 degrees. Run got cut short when I stepped wrong on a rock in the middle of the road and skid all the way across the street on the gravel. I always like the color of purple - just not so much on body parts. Geez, you'd think I was running with my eyes closed or something. What a klutz!

Our fall colors are all gone. The streets are now full of black trash bags full of those wonderfully crunchy leaves. A little snow and a lot of wind ended our fall in a hurry!

Beautiful late summer weather here in Albany. Unbelievable. Blew leaves and raked for hopefully the last time, did some basement clean-up and prep for winter, then got out at 3:30 for a 7-miler. Unfortunately the sun set when I got about a mile from the escarpment, around 3 miles into my run, so I turned there and made it back to the house just as the sun was setting there. 6 miles in about 53:00 or so.

Was supposed to start P90X today but only had the dvd's and none of the instructions. Any excuse will do maybe. Tomorrow is D1.

Home for a bit in between a day of athletic events. Ran 4 miles this morning when it was 27 degrees but great outside. Then we headed out to Pittsfield, MA and the Western, MA high school

x-country championships. The race course was at Berkshire Community College and beautiful. What a spectacular day too---in the 50s by race time.

The Northampton boys and girls were crowned champions for the first time in school history. The kiddo was pumped---all the JV runners were there to cheer for their teammates. Boys scored a record 27 and girls came in at 68 with the number two school well behind at 152. Both teams will go on to the State meet next week. The daughter of Dr. J (one of my Js running buddies) was the number one girl for Northampton and she just flew into the finish as if on air.

My Syracuse/CNY friend sent me a text to say his daughter's team won the NY State meet this morning with a perfect score of 15---they are 4 time National champions and ranked number one in the nation again. No pressure or anything! Anyway, it was great fun to be there and cheer and the beaming kid smiles were the best. I'll head to the ice rink soon for the kiddo's game, but I am bit drunk on x-country geek sunshine just now.

Lab! How on earth do you clip your toenails if that hurts worse?! JK---glad all went well and you didn't need SS's yoga therapy. OW!

((((seemomgo))))) I am sure your slide/slidding? got style points though. Sorry.

6mi treadmill. ugg; kids bothering me every 2 minutes, shoe didn't feel right, mp3 player battery died, left shin flakey, 9min pace felt like 6min pace... one of those runs. better than zero though, so on to tomorrow!

Ouch, Seemom... I always worry about that. Our intersections are so slick I have to do little mincing baby steps. Hope nothing hurt besides a little extra color.

Flying Finn, basing walnuts and acorns with hammers sounds like a lot of fun! How old is he now, anyway?

mc, I know exactly how those runs feel. Almost had one today (but not quite). Felt like pretty slow going out there. Could've really done without the snow! Slow start, lot of uphill, and just a higher effort run than I like. we got almost an inch of snow last night, and it was snowing icy little flakes throughout most of my run. Stings the eyes! I also wore my winter pants over my tights, and while my legs and butt stayed warmer, it all made my legs feel heavy. Was hoping for 14 miles today, but 12.4 will have to do. I was very done with this run. I think tomorrow I might just skip trying the outdoor stuff and do 8 or so on the treadmill.

thanks Lab. I typed it wrong - I meant the Ducks game on Versus. The Beaver game wasn't really worth watching though and I think I moved on to other things by the end of the 1st qtr. And by the looks of the final, I didn't miss much. sheesh - it was Wazzu for crying out loud.

spent the better part of 4 hrs doing the most thorough cleaning job of our bedroom. It primarily started out as revamping the closet - but one thing led to another and 4 hrs later - well, I dare anyone to find a speck of dust behind or under anything. . . and since I had it with cleaning at that point, I headed outside for 4.6 miles of hills. Now I'm enjoying a glass of wine and waiting for DH to bring home pizza.
