Good Morning Everyone

Up since 3 am which isn't too bad since I fell asleep about 8:30. Feeling just a very slight tweak in my back so will do the bike today again. I'm being very paranoid about this thing just to be safe.

Have a great weekend.

6 miles easy on the treadmill at 6 AM once again...I'm so excited to get back home and nap away in the comfort of my own bed. No inclines other than the 1% since my calves were extremely tight when I woke up. Overall 7:40 pace so I'm happy. Off to shower, eat, and pack up!

See ya later everyone!

10.17 miles in 1:27:46 for an 8:38 pace this morning. I did not want to run and I told myself I had to do at least 6 and then I convinced myself to push it to 7 then 8 then all the way to 10. 98% humidity and 62 degree temps can really bring a persons pace down.

Have great runs everyone.

Boiler - way to push yourself!

Alex - enjoy being home!

Dan - you're smart to take care of your back.

Richard - enjoy your rest day!

4.4 for me today, with some nice hills. It's 39 degrees and rainy, with some wet ice on the sidewalks so I stuck to the roads. Feeling good. Long run tomorrow.

Good runs/workouts/rest days to everyone!

Good morning all.

Dan - Smart move, take it easy and enjoy your ride.

RichardC - Sorry you have to work but enjoy your rest day.

Alex - Glad you were back in your own bed. I definately know that feeling. Great job on your run.

Floridaboiler - Way to keep pushing yourself through your run.

Jensparks - Nice job getting out there in those temps with the rain. Glad you didn't take a spill.

Woke up this morning with 30% chance of rain. Decided to wait a little to decide to go for my ride or not. After drinking and hydrating ready to go I took another peak outside and the dark clouds were rolling in. Decided to ride once again on the trainer in the garage. Plan was 17 mile in under an hour. Put in 17 mile in 55:53, works out to be 18.3 MPH. I put it in the big ring and pushed hard once every three miles just to give me some more burn.

Happy training all.

Dan--better to be safe than sorry!

Boiler--don't you love it when you force yourself to run and you feel so much better afterwards?

Jen--39' and rain sounds like the makings of a good run.

David--sorry you are stuck sitting on the bike going nowhere. I feel your pain!!!

I ran with my group this morning. Wasn't sure if I wanted to or not, since I'm still sick. But, running with them would be a bit of normalcy, which is what I need right now. Luckily I remembered the new starting location! I started with the 9:00's, but quickly caught the 8:30's. At the first water stop I dropped them and picked up the 8:00's. They pulled away, but I caught them again at the second water stop. I turned back there while they went further. All in all, it was a very good run. I needed that. Seriously doubting garmin data, though. It's giving me 8.9m in 1:12--a 8:11 pace. Uh, I don't think so!!! I've emailed a couple of people to get the correct distance!

Good morning everyone. After getting up at 6 a.m. I finally got in the mood to go running. Actually the sun came up and I was ready to go. Thought about going to the gym, but decided against that. Totals for the run are 5.51 miles in 47:51(8:41). I wanted to do a bit slower and enjoy the run today. I hope everyone is having a great day.

Don't doubt that Garmin. You did catch up to the 8:00 minute group, which mean you had to be running under 8:00 pace. Great job.

Great job out there this morning Kevin. Enjoy that weather. It seams as though I haven't seen the sun in about a week. We so desperately need the rain though so I am not complaining too much.

I started looking at my yearly totals. I am 5 miles short of 1600 miles for the year. I guess maybe I need to run on Monday. Atleast 5 miles, since Sundays are my rest day.

No running today. Looking forward to long run on Sunday, however sounds like it will be in the rain. Warm here in PA, high 40's and wet!

I am late in following everyone else, have you CR members been able to transport your data from your running log to kickrunners?

Gotta say,, It's good to touch base with everyone again. Good news I finally registered for my HM in April. I think I made it right under the cut off for number of runners. It always sells out in Dec./Jan. I am more motivated when I have a target race as a goal.

Alex - Have a nice trip to Madtown

weights + 9 miles this am - a few striders at the end

Just got back from taking the girls (2,7) sledding - always a good work out pulling the 2 year old up the hill. Now a snack and back off to the Ymca for swimming. I hope to get a little more aerobic in this evening - but we will see the DW is off shopping with her sister and no idea when she will return.

Good running to all -

good running out there for everyone so far. seems like the weather's been pretty nice in most places. weird run for me, woke up this morning, feeling a little better. up at 8:30 out the door for 9 for my long run for the week. i run by time mostly and than figure out the distance later, so right now my time is 2 hours. was planning on going fairly easy so figured i'd get in around 16. I like to start off my long runs slow and progress so first mile was 7:50, don't know the next few splits. hit the 4th in around 7 flat and thought hm a little too fast, slow it back down. 6th mile 6:40, and thought well here we go again, getting too excited too early. Didin't know any splits until my 12th mile, hit that in around 6:30 than another 6:30 than 6:15 for the 14th. 6:30ish pace for the last 20 minutes after that. ended up going a touch over 18 in 2 hours. right around 6:40 pace, a little quicker. Felt decent enough, aerobically it was fine, legs a little sore, but that is more so I think from the increase in mileage and intensity this week. groin not much of an issue as i strained it earlier this week, just tight, but than the other side was too so just a lot of stretching to be done. hope everyone elses runs go well

Nice running, all.

Cold, crisp, and overcast 29F at 8am. 13 miles on hilly roads in 1:50. Nice easy long run with the running club down at Hinckley. Combined with 5 last night, it felt just enough like a good long run. After four days off to the flu, I made 24 miles this week on three runs.

Finally checking in after missing my chance to post yesterday.

Basically I've done easy runs both yesterday and today. Yesterday's was a very easy 4-miler with my wife. Then today I met up with my friend/co-worker/National marathon partner Brian. We went about 7.5 miles. Unlike me, he's just starting to get in shape so I was being careful not to kill him -- we went about 8:45/mile pace. The good news is we were chatting the whole way so he should be fine when we start picking it up. Nice weather today helped -- high 40s, sunny.

Tomorrow night I have indoor soccer, first game in a couple of weeks. Last time out I was still shaking off the marathon and wasn't very sharp but I should be on my game tomorrow night. Then on Monday, I plan to do my one-mile time trial as part of the "year-end challenge" that Billy started at the old CR forum. I'm hoping to PR, which would require breaking 5:32.

On Tuesday, official Boston training commences. I'll be doing my 12.6 mile Vienna loop.

xcrunner - blistering pace on that 18-miler. very impressive.

Flounder - nice job this morning.

Apple - glad to see you here! We've missed you.

Dave - so close to 1600, you gotta do that 5.

4boysmom - nice run. Seems like some people really using that hammer today.

kfuller/Alex/Flounder/JenSparks - nice jobs on the runs this AM.

Dan - good decision on going slow with the rehab. No reason to hurry.

Richard C - enjoy the off day (at least off from running anyway).

That's all for now from me. I'll check back later if there is time.

Some unbelievable efforts out there today, even in adverse weather!

And for me - nothing! I'm glad of a rest day and of a chance for some domesticity. I've upgraded my younger son's room from Complete Disgrace to (merely) Disgraceful. Still more to do.

Keep it up, everyone!
