It feels good to be back.

Good morning Peter, Steve and others.

I'm running with a friend in a little while and a bit concerned about what the conditions will be like. The windchill is -5 and there are still many icy patches after getting a freezing rain two nights ago. Freezing rain is VERY unusual for us -- thankfully.

It's cold and cloudy here in NY with a dusting of flurries, but no new accumulation (still have about 4 frozen inches on the ground). Today I did the elliptical for 20 mins as a warmup and then 1 hour of yoga. I have a cold, mostly coughing, so I may skip my run tomorrow, depending on how I feel.

Morning gang!
Nice runs this morning. A tough and impressive workout for Peter and its nice to see Steve and Tory out fro a run. Nice 4 miles Hally.

I have not done anything this morning other than a really impressive sloth imitation. But I am mentally gearing up for heading out for a run of unpredetermined distance. Just thought I would stop by here to see who was up and about.

cheers!

Good Morning Kicksters! Jura thank you for the link, havn't gotten to the metronome part as I am still reading all the great stuff they have in there. Lots of other things that I can see that would help me with my form and enable me to run at a quicker cadence.

Probably won't run today, rest up for tommorows ski day. Lots of new snow. This should be a good ski area as there isn't alot of sun exposure (no ice). It is on the border of Montana and Idaho, at lost trail pass. Doesn't recieve the crowds as there are no large populations nearby. I hope kay will be able to enjoy it, she seems pretty excited about going. I think it helped to take her down to Bob Wards to get her a new ski outfit and kind of pumped her up a little. Does this count as xtraining?

Happy Saturday running everyone! Nice brisk So. Cal. winter day (50s).

I will be running together with Mr. Dromedary (a non-runner) at a local 5K today. It's on the beach at low tide so it'll be interesting. The race numbers did not arrive at the pickup yesterday so let's see what sort of chaos will occur later. I just want to be with hubby and get our finisher t-shirts. I like watching him wear his in front of his family. He struts around

G'Morning Kickstars!
I wimped out on the 5x1000s that were scheduled,
I'm just not as tough as Mustang Sally.

bright and sunny 40* IRC
2.45 w/u
1000,800,600,400,200,100,50 with 400m recoveries
2.45 c/d
I was aiming at 7:25, which is next year's goal 5k pace, but that wasn't
holding by the 400. However the short ones were considerably faster, but Garmin has trouble with short stuff and they may be suspect.
At least I didn't break anything.
Overall OK, learning experience anyways
Jura, I'm glad to hear you have a plan!

Welcome back to the roads & hills, Peter.

Hey perch, I love runs that end that way.

I wonder how choovie did in those ideal running conditions?

tomwhite, let us know which deal you settle on. We are all in your will, right?

Nice run, ks. I did finally get to your race report. You rock, sir.

Way to get out there, hally.

22 F, windy
16 miles @ 8:55

I crossed a few icy patches, but I stayed upright. The wind really took something out of me. The last 5 miles were tough.

Have a good Saturday, all.

Howdy. A nice hilly 10-miler for me today. Lots of chores to get done today, so I trimmed it back from my planned 13. Being a transplanted New Englander, I still can't get used to running a few days before Christmas and seeing neighbors raking leaves. Leaf raking is supposed to be in October!

I feeling much better about the "move." All this discussion has reminded me again of how many nice folks there are running. We may not all end up at the same place but there's no reason we can't visit.

Ran 14 miles today on rocky mountain trails. Temp was 45-50 with high winds (15-20mph). It took about 2 hours and 40 minutes to run this since often it was necessary to walk up or down the steeper sections. My foot did slip once causing my instep to get a nice bruise right near the ankle bone that protrudes out. That will be sore for a few days.

No time to rest. Now we have to get the house in order for a small party tonight. All of you are welcome to crash the party if you can make your way to Huntsville!

Couldn't sloth all morning.
just back from 8 miles done at an overly snappy pace and heart rate (average 160) thanks to MCSolar mix #1. I have to remember those mixes were put together to drive the pace of a guy who trains faster than I race!!! Sheesh
