Morning Everyone

Boy am I tired. Jet lag hasn't let up. Oh well, not running anyway. Let/hip better but still there. Taking Dave's lead and being patient but it's getting slim.

Sister - Do you know vashon island?

Tonya - Cool recovery facilities here. Nice folks and settings. Tell Phil to email me if he has any questions.

Happy weekend.

Good morning Dan and KR friends.

Dan smart choice to take it easy. Hopefully it won't take long to heal and be back to normal.

I am heading out the door soon for a ride. Looking for 25+ miles. Just worried about the rain. Not raining yet but will be here soon. Currently 51* and cloudy with 60% chance of rain.

Asics I ride a Motobecane with Ultegra components. Nice bike for the price. I will take a picture later and post it. I know I told Mom when I bought it I would post a picture after I returned from VA.

Talk to you all later.
Yes. I used to live in the south end of Seattle metro area. I would go down to the public pier many nights and look right across the Sound at Vashon. I took the ferry there once and spent the day exploring it -- it's so cute. Did you say that's where you live?

For today's workout I took a good challenging spinning class, and am about to spend some time on the yoga mat now.

Good runs, rides, and workouts to all!

Good morning! I'm a newbie to KickRunners (long time lurker at CoolRunning).

I did my 10 miles at the indoor track this morning. I switched my weekend runs around due to the Nor'easter that's approaching - we're expecting 1-2 feet of snow tomorrow. I was too much of a wimp to go outside since it was single digits and wind chills below zero.

I guess tomorrow will be the treadmill in front of the football game!

Hi VTLaura! Where in VT are you? I'm in Cornwall.

I ran 10.3 (at an 8m40s pace) outside. it was brutally cold for the first two and last two miles of the run (that's when I had a head wind). I checked the National Weather Service website and it said the wind chill is -8* F. Okay, I guess I'm not such a wimp.

Mornin' ya'll!

5 miles for me this mornin. Ran on the trail and all the hills sure gave me a workout. Compared to others its not as cold here, but I was cold. It was 24 at the start and dropped to about 20 by the time I finished. We're expecting freezing rain/ice today and then snow tomorrow. I ended up not running last night like I had planned to, ate enchilada hamburger helper with the bf for dinner and my stomach hurt all night long. I'll make Friday's run up tomorrow.

Dan- Good thinking taking it easy
David- Have a good ride
SGH- Nice workout today
Kfuller- Hope the run went well, hope you stayed warm
Laura & Jury- Nice runs
Richard- Enjoy your day

It is now 22 degrees and it felt cold for about the first mile and then I was o.k. Got in the whole 6 miles as planned. Could have gone longer, but I really wanted to be done. 6 miles in 50:52(8:27). Great job on the running, biking or resting. Have a great day and keep up the great running.

Finally...a real run again!

I am definitely still in recovery mode...did my neighborhood 5.48 mile loop in 45:04 (8:13/mile). Kept it easy. Not too bad a pace but my legs still feel fatigued. I passed by the finish area of the "Rudolph's Red Nose" 10k race. Had I not done a marathon last week I'd have certainly run it...anyway as I was heading up the big hill on Pickett St. (Megs knows this one), I was giving encouragement to any runners who passed by on the way to the finish. That was kind of fun.

Pretty cold out there, about 34F but feeling colder because of moisture in the air. It definitely feels like it could snow later. We'll see though.

Kevin - nice run, glad you got it in after the car blues yesterday

Dave - heckuva ride there. I'd say you're picking up this biking thing pretty well.

RichardC - just remember...cans not bottles at the orchestra (ref. Bud Light commercial).

Megs - nice run this morning. Must feel good to be done with school.

SGH - I do spin as well. Great alternate workout. Looking forward to resuming my spinning next week.

vashondan - don't let the jet lag keep you down. Go out for a little run, you'll feel better.

Well, time to do some Christmas preps. Oh yeah, that's coming soon and I haven't done anything.

lol CMJ that's the opera not the symphony...or orchestra. Glad you're out running again.

Dave great ride....should we start calling you Lance?

Megs - Glad you're home for a while and no school on the mind. I still got a week of that nasty business.

Dan - Rest and recover and hopefully by the time you get home you'll be ready to run again.

Nice run kfuller.

Ricahrd - I don't get to use 'em until after X-mas. I got the Atlas ones, I forget what site, but I bet googling Atlas running snowshoes would show 'em to ya. They were $152 with free shipping so that was a pretty good deal I think compared to some others I saw.

HJ and Laura - I'm gonna go join the 10 mile club in a lil' bit. Nice runs.

SGH - Nice spin and I bet you're all loosened up from your yoga now.

As stated up there...I'm off for a 10 miler. Looks pretty cold out and the weather says it feels like 18 out there so that won't be too bad. Check back in later.

Speaking of Vashon Island, some of my very first races were in the Tacoma area (late '90s). I did the Steilacoom new year's resolution series one year. The Sound to Narrows race is the first race I can remember that I've done in multiple years. Is S2N still going on? I love that course.

Today's run: 22F, overcast and slight wind, 15F chill at 9am. 14 miles on roads in 2:02.

Ran along the lake, into downtown Cleveland, around Public Square and Jacobs Field, stopped by the West Side Market for a $0.50 cup of hot chocolate, and returned home. Took a few photos.

Looks like snow is on the way. I hope to run in some powder snow tomorrow, and should make for an interesting Browns game.

roots--ohhhh the west side market!!! Hubby grew up in Cleveland and his dad used to go there every Saturdya. Hubby and I would go visit his mom almost every weeked and go shopping for her. The produce there was so much better than the grocery store!

Good runs and rides all! Sounds like winter has arrived...

Dan--to use my doctor's favorite quote "hang in there".

I ran with my running group this morning. Sorta... They were still dorking around and I knew I didn't have time to spare (had to work at 10am), so I took off ahead of the pace groups. Eventually the gazelles caught me. Expecting eyates to be there, I asked if there was an Eric. Of course, he wasn't there this morning, and I had to explain how I knew him but didn't know who he was. Oh, we met online. And you know where the guys went with that...

I talked with my doctor this morning. The group stopped for water, so I stopped to talk with him. We're talking, then he takes a step to the side and blows a snot rocket. Uh, so much for a professional image!!! If I'm still coughing on Monday, he wants to see me.

It was a really good run, although I ran it way too hard. Still don't feel like I'm getting air.

6m, 52:58, 8:43pace

It is really snowing here. I was lucky to do 25-30 on the highway on the way home from work. I told the kids that unless there were bones poking through the skin or a severed artery, we weren't going anywhere!

Flounder - 22.5 miles on the TM. That is impressive. I hope the TM is in front of a TV or something.

Mom - Great job getting out there this morning. Take care of yourself and hopefully you will feel better by Monday.

Hey Laura, glad you de-lurked.

I was supposed to do 4 miles easy. I felt really good and when I looked down at my watch, I was doing a sub 10 m/m, which is way above my easy pace. I kept with it, went a little long, finishing in 4.76 mi, 47:39. Nice when it comes together like that.

Boyerdavea - Pickings are a little slim on TV from 6-9 Saturday morning - The cartoons are not as they use to be. MTV had a reality crap series on - But VH1 came through late in the run with 2007 top 40 videos.

My biggest worry was that the YMCA would get busy enough I would have to rotate off and back on the TM - That will not happen until January 1st - When all the pretenders come back for 2-6 weeks before they fall off again.

Its been a good week -
