Group training. First met at the indoor track do to strength and core. Then some bounds, lunges, and some other things we did on the track. That took about 50 minutes, then hit the pool for an hour. WU: 300, 8 x100 (25 kick, 25right arm, 25 left arm, 25 swim) RI 15 s, 8 x 50 (25 kick sprint underwater as far as you could go, then swim/25 sprint), 300 pull, CD 100. Or something like that. DW came too, had a group of 10. Happy weekend peeps!

Full body weights followed by my Son Brian's first "training" run for the Jingle Bell 5K in December. I had such a great time running with him, he went 1.4 miles without stopping and did great! He told me he "LOVES" to run Nice way to start the day!

Sounds like a fun group workout, Scott. Nice to have DW with you too!

Great job, Julie & Brian! You are such a great influence on him!

3350yd group swim workout. Felt pretty good leading most of the workout full of 100's 200's. Then our traditional Spooktacular relays, the silliest one was to wear a cotton t-shirt/additional swim cap and pass them to the next swimmer. Fun time.

Yoga class later with DH. And cleaning lots of leaves. Hopefully the temp close to 60 by that time.

Good morning fellow kickrunners! I did my favorite 3 mile run this morning - on the dirt road between the reservoirs. It was a chilly 39 degrees when I started but I warmed up quickly. Later today we might do a short but steep hike, and then tomorrow is our spin class early.

Enjoy the weekend and don't eat too much Halloween candy.

3.3 mi breaking in my new shoes - HOLY fast! First loop felt super easy at 10min pace, second loop was a little tougher but it turns out I was going 9:20 pace...averaged 9:41 for the morning. I will take it!

Busy, busy day for me so far, too. 1500 or so in the pool, concocting and freezing a months-worth of fruit smoothies, making a nice big batch of fall stew (Pumpkin Bourguignon I'm calling it), lunch with the fam, long run planned sometime today...hm. Better get back to it!

Great stuff by everyone today! I usually don't do the weekend post, but I am still awake and on the computer so why not.

After a thrilling but disappoint soccer game (coaching my daughters team....my little one scored the only goal for our team), I headed up and geared up for a chilly ride. I was scheduled for a six (6) hour ride, my last "long" ride before I begin my taper next week. Everything was going well until about 4.5 hours in (~85 miles), I got a flat tire. No worries, I changed but blew two CO2 cartridges and the tire was only about 80psi. I had lost a bit of time on the tire change and I knew that I only had so much time allotted for my training today so I hustled back home. Total ride: ~5:40:00, 105 miles. I was hoping to get the 112 miles in, but I just ran out of time.

After the ride, I immediately went out for my run. Again, I wanted to get in an hour but had to stop at ~52 minutes because I had to get home, get showered and pick up my DD1 from a birthday party. The run went well, averaged 8:15/mile (6.2 miles) coming off of a 105 mile bike ride, and I felt really good considering.

Tomorrow I have a three (3) hour run that I will probably do around 7 - 7:30AM so that I can dedicate the rest of the day to Halloween stuff with my family. Oh I will have to stuff in a 1.5 hour ride on the trainer in there, but I can do that after lunch.

Have a great night everyone!

Okay, well, based on Bannon's plea/cajoling/mandate, I'm going to tip-toe my way back in here. For starters, expect too many days of rest and at least one day of juggling. (I managed to find a semi-local juggling group that meets once a week to throw things at each other... in a good way. Still, I managed my first juggling injury that needed icing last week. Minor injury, but kind of a fun milestone!)

First note to self, try to post before miles does. (miles, I'm guessing you're fast approaching taper for IMAZ?)

Trip to the fishbowl for me... 1250 yards.
