2 easy shake out the cobwebs miles (18:03). Delightfully crisp morning, hopefully it'll be as nice tomorrow!

EQ! (Because I know I will find you in here today) - I forgot to ask last night what your goal was for this race tomorrow. I know you will kick ass.

Morning Sparky and Arrojo.

Pfitz calls for 4 recovery miles today. I'm going to pass on it though in favor of letting my legs rest up a little bit.

Arrojo - My goals are:
1.) Have fun
2.) Run the best race I can
3.) Set a new PR.

My plan is to go out at 8:00/mile, which is a 3:30 pace. If I feel good at the 1/2 marker, I can pick up the pace a bit. If I don't feel good at 8/mile I can back it down a bit.

I know if I try to go out at BQ pace (3:15) I wouldn't be able to hold it. I also know that 8:00 is a tough but reasonable pace for me.

The big concern for me is that I will fade at the end. My last 20+ miler was about 7 weeks ago. Remember all my focus was on the Equinox, and if it went well I was going to do the Pfitz/Douglass 4 week plan between 2 marathons. The idea behind that plan is to use the first race as your last 20+ miler. And we all know what happened in the Equinox. I only got 12.5 miles (albeit 12.5 very tough miles).

I guess that's kind of a long way of saying:

3:15 if the heavens open and there's a chorus of angels sing Hallelujah! Translation...only a miracle will make that happen.
3:20-3:30 if I have a good day
3:30-3:40 if I have an average day.

4 mile recovery run with my Coach. It's been way too long since I last ran with him, but it is kinda hard since I keep getting faster and well....he isn't. Was a good time though.

Off to watch my little brother's football game.

EQ good luck!

EQ, your strategy is a lot like my 1/2 strategy. Go out at a certain pace for the first half (8:40), then either pick it up, or hang on for dear life, depending on how you feel. Good luck!

<staying on topic> Rest day for me.

15 mile trail fun run/race today. I was rockin' baby...that is until the last 5 miles. Ugh. My calves cramped up pretty badly and I'm sure I have a pretty gross finish line photo.

Great run, though.

Have a great afternoon!
