Is it Sept. already? Today is a non-running day, but I wanted to walk for an hour (OHW). I was on an out and back course. When I got to the point of having to turn around I could see the turn around for the 5K, so what the heck I walked to the 5K turnaround.

Total walk took about 1 hr 14 min, that includes a short visit with the neighbors who were out walking.

Hope all have a great day.

How can I be a master, when I haven't mastered anything?

It's a beautiful day here in NY, and I took a one-hour yoga class at my gym this morning. It was a disappointment though. The instructor has changed and this one doesn't seem to have any sense of flow, and she had us place our mats so that we're facing each other rather than her or the mirror. I don't particularly want to look at the other class participants - I'd rather focus on myself! Oh well, whinge, whine, complain. It was better than not taking yoga.

Tomorrow I'm planning to walk 15 minutes, run 30 minutes (at minimum), and walk 15 minutes.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
Hi all.

Wish we had some of that cool NY weather. But a cool down is coming. But I just missed it and it made my long run a struggle. Anyways I did manage to pull off a very hilly (not real big hills just steep and relentless) mostly trails, some roads. 18.3 miles in all for 2:48:25 (9:12 pace). I think I lost enough fluids to really drag the last 2 miles. Just kept the pace but no fast finish this time. It was a new route which made it nice. All in all a gret workout. I figure if you finish a long run tired then it was a strong effort.

Hello all

Nice long run Perch. 5 miles in the woods this morning for me. Tomorrow I'll try to do 17-18 miles or thereabouts. I've been goofing off the last few weeks, running team relays & things like that , and haven't done any really long runs in a while, and with a marathon coming up in a month I'd better get on the stick.

Have a nice Labor Day weekend all

Yeah, Johnny... time to quit screwing around and get back on track. hehe! I ran 11 today with my better half and it went pretty well. Followed with some ab work, a mini meal and a nice nap. Life is good but now it's time to get some chores done.

I stretched my long run from 3 miles to 3.5 miles today. I took it easy and walked one short hill at 2 miles. Finished in 40:11.

Not too busy here today. I gotta get me one of those ticker things.

5 easy miles early this morning with a half dozen striders thrown in. 17 tomorrow, so we had spaghetti tonight. I'm already getting tired of pasta and there's still six weeks left to the race. Gulp.

Have a great weekend.

Hi, Susan. Striders (or strides or strideouts) are short, fast interval repeats. I.e., you run fast for 100 meters, rest by running slower or jogging for some period, then repeat. The objective is to improve running form and running economy.
