Good morning! I'm surprised to be first to post.

I had planned to run briefly this morning but woke up with a bit of a sore lower back so instead I walked the horrible, poorly behaved doggies for a mile (they were insane with delight and dragged me all over), and now I'm heading out for a much-needed yoga class.

Tomorrow is our 6th anniversary! We're going out to a new restaurant to celebrate. Who knew that second marriages could be so wonderful? I feel like the luckiest woman in the world.

Have a wonderful day and run a few miles for me.

Tought 10/Tough 2 today.

I did the 2.

One of my students is learning to run, and today was her longest continuous run, and her first race ever.

So, I said I'd do it with her.

She's faster than I am, by a bit, but that's cool. One of her teacher friends was also running, and she was much closer to my pace. She had a goal that was just about where I wanted to be, too.

So, I ran with her.

She ran the whole way...... her goal was 22 min.

We crossed the finish line in UNDER 20! :dancing banana:

My student's goal was under 20, and she crossed under 19.

Everyone had a good day.

Now, off to some specialized screw and nut store to get a part to the handle on the shower knob that keeps coming off in my hand while I"m in the tub. Then, maybe some walk around shopping/looking/idea finding for Christmas gifts and home to plant myself on the couch and do projects in front of college football.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

riley: Not uncommon for weekend daily threads to start around noon or even later. I think most people are out enjoying their workouts or other. Especially in the fall and winter, weekend dailies don't get started until late. More importantly, congratulations on the Happy!

12.5 mile (+/- one mile) trail run composed of one loop on the Stone Cat course. Trail was tougher than hoped for (which is not to say it was hard) but, still, far easier than most trails near my house. Going is on the slow side. Gonna have to do that 4 times in November. Will be very, very tough!

Great day, Peeps!

I decided last night to run a 10K today. I have never run one so I wasn't sure how I would do, especially since I haven't done any speed work. The first half of this run was pretty tough, a tough little 5K if I would have decided to do it. Lots of hill through the first 3 miles and then it kinda flattens out on a rails to trails path to the turn around with 2 miles to the finish. I think I ran pretty well considering no speed work. It was a small race and I ended up 3rd OA and 1st Masters. My time was somewhere around 41:3x. I will post a race report later.

Happy Anniversary, Susan!!!

Made it to the 7am swimming practice, though I wasn't sure if my L shoulder would allow me to swim. I did several length of 'swimming' here and there but mostly just kicking, kicking, one arm drill and more kicking. Not sure how much, about 1hr and 20min worth of pool time.

Then took the Stumpjamper 29er (demo bike) to another singletrack. It was much easier/faster course compared to my 'home' course and this bike goes FAST. Took 66min for 14.x miles. Still had some issues with tight turns, but I am not sure if that is my poor technique, or in fact 15.5/29er combo is just tad too big for me. Tires seem to be awerful. Slips a lot. and I don't know why this bike bounces a lot (even after letting some air out). Maybe time to post some Q's on this matter. The more people/LBS I talk to, the more decision process gets complicated.
