Richard - hope your run goes well later.

Loopy - Nice going on the five and safe travels.

Out for 4 in a while. Got on the scale for the first time since my injury the beginning of December and found that I had gained 10 pds. Arghh! Man, I don't feel like I'm eating more than I should. Guess I've got to get my miles back up there.

Back in awhile.

loopy - good recovery run. Safe travels to NYC
RC - sorry you have to work today. Get that 6 tonight.

Good luck racers this weekend!

Rest day for me today (20M Tomorrow). Well, I will keep my self busy around the house. We need to get to the tile store to look for tile patterns for our backsplash in the kitchen. We are having the great room/kitchen painted and backsplash finished while we are on vacation in April.

My last 3 days have gone like this.
Wed - 32:49 Tempo/Road with 3 guys 10-15yrs younger. A couple of miles were in the 6:15-6:20 range.
Thur - 1:28 Muddy Trail/Road mix with another friend. A couple miles were also icy under the trees.
Fri - 1:15 Trail/Road mix solo. It was near 60F. The legs were a bit tired from Wed's Tempo, but I pushed through the last road mile at a fairly brisk pace.

Good morning everyone. I got to sleep in today. I was watching college basketball until almost midnight and decided to get up whenever the kids were awake. I will be out the door in about 30 minutes for my 8 mile run today.

Good luck to David on the triathalon and anyone else that may have a race this weekend.

Morning all! So my planned 9.22 mile run around a local park went a little longer since we missed a planned turn and wound up being 10.19 Longest long run I've ever done (besides my one half marathon in 06) In 1:33 for about a 9:07 average pace. Was hitting 8:15s-8:20s until mile 7.5 where some severe GI pain kicked in forcing me to a run for 2-3 min, walk 30-60sec pattern to try to just get back to my car. Ran with 3 of my colleagues (I was on the only female) and we met at 6am in the darkness with light rain falling. Overall, I'm very happy with this run. If not for the stomach pains I think I would have done this about 10 min faster bc I was seriously feeling great elsewhere.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OUR RACERS!!
kfuller- have a good 8.
crunning- seems like you've been gettin in some great runs!
Dan- I wouldn't worry about the weight. If you were there once before you'll get there again
loopy- NYC! come visit meee. Enjoy your trip.
Richard- enjoy your run later.

Heading out for a easy 3 miler. Saving myself for a hard effort in the 5k tomorrow. This race is part of my 10k plan so at least I haven't had to cut back the miles.

Liz - great run! When GI hits, it's no fun.
Kevin - enjoy the 8
crunningman - I think you have earned a rest day...
Dan - weight is as weight does. Perhaps it's all muscle?
Loopy - always with the early run...
Richard - work?

Good luck those racing today! Run strong! Actually Swim-Bike-Run strong in Dave's case.

Good morning folks --

We've pushed back our departure for skiing in West Virginia for a few hours...it's raining out there so there won't be any skiing today. We have 2-day lift tickets and could use them either today/tomorrow or tomorrow/Monday, so the latter looks like the way to go. We'll head up and check in this evening.

The good news about that is I had time for a run this morning! 7 miles on the neighborhood trail, mostly easy. Gained a running partner about halfway through and we chatted for a little while until he turned off. Then with a mile to go I started picking it up until I was running really hard in the last half mile. So yeah, an SFF, that was for you Tonya.

Total run 7 miles, 53:29 (7:38/mile)

Liz - great job on the long run today despite the naughty GI system.

Loopy - way to stick that run in too, before the weekend trip.

RA - good luck tomorrow, I have a feeling you're going to nail it.

kfuller - can't blame you for staying up last night...there were some good games on last night weren't there? Good night for me and my wife. St. Joe's beats Xavier and UCLA took out USC. Both play in the final (A-10 for SJU, Pac-10 for UCLA) tonight.

Dan - don't worry about those pounds, they'll come off as your miles get back up.

Richard - hope you get that run in later.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE RACERS!!!

Hi, everybody.
First, good luck to Dave in his Tri.... I'm sure he'll do great.
Liz, those breakthrough runs, whether it's a new peak fotr mileage or speed, are ones to remember -- and build upon. great job.

I did 8 miles today. I'm very pleased with it. Started in steady snowfall, even though it was about 37 degrees; thus, it didn't really stick, although I had to watch for alippery spots. Finished in flurries.
The run itself was uneventful... which is a good thing. A couple of annoying stops in Mile 7 to tie the left shoe (the second time I learned my lesson and did a double-knot); otherwise a smooth run.
Longest effort since Nov. 24 (also . I haven't done 10 since Sept. 5. That's the next barrier.

Good runs, all

Post run...

Did 5 instead of 4. Figured maybe I'd drop the 10 pds if I did an extra mile

Hawk - Nice warming up the legs for skiing! Have fun on the mtn.

RunAsics - Have a good run and good luck tomorrow. As for the extra weight being muscle....I'm thinking not!

Liz - Nice job. Those double digit numbers are fun. Sorry about the stomach problems.

KFuller - Enjoy the run. I gotta get myself caught up with the NCAA's

CRunning - Enjoy the rest day.

Hawk-- I am a university of Utah graduate and they played UNLV and lost. I don't like that they want to the permanent site of the conference tournament in Vegas. It gives UNLV an unfair advantage. Congrats to your teams and hopefully St. Joe's can get the win. Too bad you couldn't be out here for skiing. Yesterday the resorts got anywhere from 1- 2 ft of new snow. If it wasn't so expensive I would be skiing quite a bit.

Tonya-- They had the US 8k championships today and I think you could have done well. The times for the women ranged from 1st in 25:40- 31:15 for the last runner. Now I am quite interested in seeing what kind of time you can get at the Shamrock Shuffle 8k.

I did 8 miles today and it went o.k. 8 miles in 1:07:33(8:26). I got a weekly mileage PR of 28 miles for the week. Today is my 5 year anniversary and my wife and I are going to do something this afternoon. Not exactly sure what, but we will most likely go to a movie. Have a great day everyone.

Got back for working with Pops and my sis since she's home. Grilled cheese for lunch, some time to let it settle down, then my long run.

I'm really looking forward to next week where ALL my family will get to go down to the Wisconsin Dells and stay at a hotel for 2 nights. We'll also get to go out to eat in Madison with my grandpa, aunt and uncle one night as well. The hotel will have a little pool so it'll be fun to lounge around a bit as well.

Hope everything went well for Dave!

I'll report back in later.

Hey everyone! Well it was 32* so I decided to throw on some shorts and hit the road. I did 4.65 miles @ 9:03 mpm...I tried to keep it slower so I would be fresh for Monday's 5K...Have a great day everyone...It is the first day of my Spring Break, so I am taking off from school work, though I have plenty to do, and spending it with my lovely wife...museum, dinner, shopping and the a little Dr. Suess flick tonight. Have a good run.

Hey everyone...ahhh Nostalgia I'm in my hometown of Walla Walla helping my folks for the weekend. I got to run my long run for the week through my childhood neighborhoods, which is always fun. The plan called for 16 miles between 9:40 and 10:40 pace.

The results
Mile one: 9:39
Mile two: 9:30
Mile three: 9:43
Mile four: 9:38
Mile five: 9:52
Mile six: 9:36
Mile seven: 9:29
Mile eight: 9:33
Mile nine: 9:29
Mile ten: 9:20
Mile eleven: 9:18
Mile twelve: 9:13
Mile thirteen: 9:10
Mile fourteen: 9:15
Mile fifteen: 8:55
Mile sixteen: 8:48
.50 miles: 8:11 pace

Total: 16.50 miles at 9:22 pace. Got a little carried away there, but I was run solo, with no ipod, and it rained...so I guess that was enough reason to push the pace...pretty tired now - but gotta go spend time with the family...I'll post later tonight.

GOOD LUCK RACERS!!!
