Never mind the bullocks!! (When that album came out at the end of 1977, Rolling Stone magazine described its sounds as "two subway trains crashing together under 4 feet of mud, victims screaming."

Well... I'm sitting here debating whether to go try some time on the trainer (which aggravated my knee last time I tried it) or just admit that I actually need to rest it but am afraid to do that as my appetite has not come down to match the reduced training load and I'm beginning to inflate with volatile crap like the Hindenburg and, lacking my daily dose of endorphins, I'm crabbing at the family and I know that Iron Boy and crew are out on the roads right now so I must rest the knee so I can get back out there but I'm feeling my fitness dwindle the whole time I'm resting it which makes me want to get on the trainer so I can get some sort of cardio workout but that's really trading some silly short-term satisfaction for a delay in long term recovery and I'm compelled to type one really long run-on sentence spilling all the crap to my imaginary online friend as if I were racing on whites but in fact I'm only awake 'cuz Gator Girl took off to meet the Muffin Queen for a 12-miler making me feel even worse for not getting out of bed and the only one happy about that is the M-Dawg and she's no help and if this sentence goes on much longer I won't get to the other stuff I was up at 3 AM thinking I've got to do today like finish the pinewood derby cars and cook dinner for the MIL and finish fishing the wires for the dining room speakers and prepare for the neighbor's superbowl party for which I've got some cool moto-swag like inflatable headsets that make you look like bill belichick and now on top of everything else my fingers are cramping!

Don't know what I want
Hey - post a picture of the cool moto-swag, that sounds interesting. Rest, it's hard, but rest. Do all that other stuff you mentioned to keep from eating like you're working out.

Feeling a little better today, thanks to some sleep and a Bannon cyber hug. Still regretting the half pound of chocolate covered pretzels I drowned my sorrows in last night, but I'm up for turning it around. And, I have a fun day ahead - ice skating in the city with a group of friends, and then we're hitting Chinatown afterwards for dinner.

Have a good weekend everyone!!

Busy weekend in store for me.

LRR: Missed you this morning, and damn, that was one long sentence... feel your pain, dude... I'd rather have you out there for life rather than one feel-good weekend. We ain't going no where.

Neil: Sounds like fun. Gonna see if I can find some Rugby on TV.

Me...

13 mile run early this morning with Bunghole Surfer and Proper Tayas, who has to be among the nicest people I know. She tells stories and instead of cursing, she says, "Swear-swear... x-x." I swear. Few pickups, two x Sagamore hill, but otherwise a very easy run. Though legs very tired by the end for obvious reasons (last weekends long run).

Hey LRR, I'll join you on a non-ride non-ride today, how's that? My 19th consecutive day of it, in fact. I'm a streaker!!

I am going to swim today, though. Right now, in fact. Bye!

LRR - Sounds like you are planning to get A LOT done. It will be a good weekend!

Me... 4000yd swim with the club. For a change, I drank a whole bottle of gaterade (I don't usually drink/eat anything before 7am practice). OMG. I got serious gassy, burpy issues. 5K tune-up race tomorrow. It looks like a decent morning to race... it was 5F (-double digist windchill) last year.

Got a late start on my run, making things tight timewise. Very enjoyable run. Started on my usual long route, then cut through to another neighborhood and did part of the Labor Day 5K route. I kenw i was running it too hard, but it just felt good. 8.8m, 1:15, 8:34pace.

Changed shoes then sat on the trainer for 30mins. Yawn...

Finished with just enough time to shower, then head to work!

Got a long-run in on my own today. It was nice. I ran for just under an hour and a half. Not sure how far it was, and I'd probably get in trouble with LRR for giving the number in kms anyways! I'll have to find a map.

Just walked in the door from a 12 miler. Ran into the dark, actually started with sunglasses on, but it is now pitch black out there. Saw several other runners today, and I normally don't. A little windy and a bit cool, but I ran into the wind for the first half so I could be nice and warm on the way home. Held something like a 8:50 pace for the most part. The last couple miles were a bit rough, was really wishing for a training partner out there today.

An aquabrick of sorts for me this morning. Pool first for an easy & relaxed 30 minute postal swim where I covered 1350 m in 29:44 then out in the snow showers for an 8.2 mile Z3 run.

Heading off to Chateau Bannon, shortly.

30 min HR test on the dreadmill. Official results are not back yet, but looks promising. I was well within my previous zone 1 at a 7:30 pace and finished up at 5:45 pace on a 4% incline. HR was about 185 at that point!

1:46 run, incorporated some hills. 12.8 mi for an average pace of 8:17 with all except 3 min in zone 1/2. Total running today was 16.5 mi. Stretched and used the foam roller.

Then 45 min weights and core exercises.

Then 1:30 on the trainer. 153 watts, mostly zone 1/2.

Gotta run, driving up to Madison this afternoon to watch a Badgers hockey game. They're playing Minnesota Duluth. My wife's company has a corporate box and she got invited by a co-worker up there. I'm as excited about the Spotted Cow and Crop Circle Wheat (thanks for the tip, Thor) as I am about the game!

Have a great weekend everyone!
