Good morning everyone. Today is my 50th birthday! First I'm heading to the gym for a light workout and then a yoga class, and then I'm getting a massage. Then DH is having a "surprise" party for me (my daughter spilled the beans) with about 30 people coming over. Good thing I found out b/c the house was messy and I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning it up. So today will be a really nice day for me! And my bronchitis is finally starting to get better and I'm coughing less.

Good runs to you all. I'll be trying a really short run tomorrow.
The weather was surprisingly mild for late December. I did a 5-mile race in 41:17 on a hilly course. Eight years ago I broke 39:00, and subsequently I revised my goal to breaking 40:00. Last year, I squeezed in under 41:00. After the first mile today, I thought I had a chance to replicate that time, but it was not to be, especially after the hills. Still it's good to do a race every now and then, particularly one longer than 5k.
Mellow 5.9 miles around town in the snow.

Down to 19.5 miles to go for the year, to break my goal

PS: Happy B-Day Riley!
cgerber, your advice about the Garmin was right on! I got it to acquire the satellites but I couldn't be wearing it. It wasn't exactly accurate though...it would lose them I think, but it was close. Better than nothing!

Finally did 7 yesterday. It felt great till the last mile and then I just started to fade. I'm supposed to do 4 today, but I'm wondering if I should switch todays 4 with tomorrows DOR.

Happy Birthday Riley! Hope its a fantastic day for you!
