Hi guys... nice runs.

The gals really ought to get up early and run instead of sleeping the day away... or at least get some chores done, huh?

Good morning fellas and good running.

No sleeping in for me. I had a 6:30 a.m. running date. Temp was a balmy 26 degrees but a 20 mph wsw wind. We did 12.11 miles which included a .5 mile walk w/u and .5 mile walk c/d. My lower back and glutes felt quite tight so followed with 30 min of yoga to get things back to normal. The run seemed rather difficult today.

Tonight is our annual running club party where I am presenting a slide show which I hired DS#2 to do for me. As a poor college student he needed some extra cash and I was glad to not have to do the work on the slide show myself. He used Windows Movie Maker and did a nice job with the soundtrack and special effects. I think everyone will like it. I may put it on YouTube.

Enjoy your day.

Hey Pro, good luck at Derry. I hear that hill at mile 13 is a killer.

I ran my LR today - perfect conditions: mid to upper 20's, no wind, sunny. And I'm really pleased with the results: 16 miles over hilly course, 2:19:37 (8:44 pace). My goal was 2:20:00 so that's cool.

Good runs all!

Ya rabble rouser. For that nescient statement, I am absolutely not ... not going to comment on any hilly MLR or LR running done in Utah today.

Off to give Jean-Luc, my imaginary male maid, his task sheet for the day.

Ha, somewhere in there is a hill. Most people complain about the long one, but I can run up that. The one I hate is the 90 deg left turn, so you can't see it coming. Once you turn and look (up), I always think, this hill should have an escalator built into it.

I see if I can pull in a 2:19:00

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm millbot, I can feel an early morning run challenge coming on here! In the meantime, 12.5 miles of slog up and over the hills. Mud was particularly sticky this morning but hey, the sun was out!

Good runs out there from the guys and gals

Wow, some great runs already!

I strapped on the Yak Trax for about 1.1 miles and discovered the bike trail had been plowed. So I stripped of the Yaks for the rest of my 6.3 miles this morning in 22 degrees with a 14 wind chill. It really didn't feel cold though other than the first mile. And I had a pretty good pace for a slogger like me.

Have a great weekend!

I stayed inside and ran on the treadmill this morning. I have some chest congestion and was bothering me this morning when I took a deep breath. I didn't want to be a couple of miles from home if it started really bothering me.

So I did and EZ 6 miles on the treadmill with no problems.

That millbot is itching for trouble.

Rose, dinner would be great with you and Ralph. We could venture to your area or RazzleMike gave me the names of some places in Va Beach too. Let's exchange emails on travel plans and stuff. BTW, you are making a terrific comeback! Nice run to Elaine too

2 miles walking on the treadmill this morning.. just couldn't warmup enough to run so sad.. same thing that happened last Saturday & I just pushed it. Not today though, I have not been feeling well with a few of my medical issues this week.. so listened to the body like a good girl.

I also think the cold air (maybe not to some of you.. lol), but being out in teens to low 20;s in the morning just walking to my car & into work has taken a little bit of a toll .. found myself coughing a few times, not a good sign.. So, told my DH yesterday, my goal for the next month is to NOT get sick. It doesn't really matter how much I run, if I get sick again - because that takes a good 3 months to heal the bronchials (according to the docs) and since they refuse to give me prednisone anymore due to this chronic condition.. avoiding the shut down of the bronchials is my best bet.. I think once it warms up again at night, I will be better.. just no sickness like last year (that not being able to walk between rooms just really sucks!) Maybe this needs to be called my winter strategy... walk til I warmup, & then run if its possible (or winter restraint)..

Kinda venting, kinda talking to myself.. thanks for being there all.

tried to get over my hillophobia. lots of rocks, didn't fall but caught myself a couple of times; leaned into a few cactus in some corners, ouch... crunched my right ankle good once... felt like one of those football player drills with 6 miles of car tires.

smiled the whole way, and several maniacal laughing sessions. felt like a drunk idiot, or maybe a kid.

speaking of kids, protosun just got kicked out of gymnastics class today. oy vey.

Pegruns, I'd believe how you feel. My Garmin lies all the time, I'm sure yours does too. Have fun at the dance! I don't get out much either. We live in a very casual town and I love to dress up any chance I get.

Geez, mc, what did she do?? Heheh, ya gotta smile sometimes. Nice run, watch out for cactus!

-39 downtown this morning.... probably warmer up here but I'm not chancing it. I'll try to drag my kids to the athletic club later today. When it's this cold out, you have to get them outside somehow or they take root in front of the TV... (Halo3 anyone?)

Plan is for 6-8 on the treadmill, prolly only 6 cuz I bet it'll be busy, then some weights.

I love how Millbot stirs things up around here!

MC when you attack HILLS... oy vey!

Nice run today and it was 80F warmer than Erika's neck of the woods

I was lying in bed wishing just to sleep more, 25F outside, then I had an idea. Boston starts at 10:20 am so why not sleep in, have breakfast and shoot for Boston start time. Worked out great! Lots of sleep and no problems running from 10:30-12:30 time frame (new to me!). IRC 40-50F!
Ran rolling downhill (300 ft drop) then back up.
15 miles in 2:06:37 (8:26 AHR 154, target 150-155). Negative split! 1:04:07 (8:32 downhill) 1:02:30 (8:20 uphill). There were actually runners out. I guess this is when "normal" people run
