<p>This visit isn't easy, but it is the first of many. I remember being the age of my nieces and nephews and watching my parents and aunts and uncles deal with grandparents. I will be the grandparent being dealt with. Maybe.</p>

<p>My brother's health scares me. I scare me at times. But my mother assures us all that she has a pact with God that she'll go first. Maybe she's trying to accelerate that by how she's living and what she's eating. </p>

<p>I look at the son who's here with me and I hope that - ah heck this is stream of consciousness and I don't really know exactly what I'm hoping. Gah.</p>
