Cool pictures - I grew up in Michigan and we used to snowmobile on lakes in the winter Summer is definitely a better time of year up there....

Hobey: Yep, On Monona. This is the smaller lake so I use it for runs under 20 miles. I did a 21 Miler on Lake Mendota, which is Madison other big lake.

DonSki: it is hard!! After I had run the lake today I was making my way back home and realized the asphalt I was on felt like I was on rubber track

Silly Sally: I've had a few close calls though not on Monona. The ice is very thick, it's been an unusually cold winter so only once have I had a problem with thin ice.

Though there's nothing like the sound of cracking ice to get your heart rate up!! There were actually a lot of people out on the ice today. A whole group of speed skaters and a bunch of fisherman so I figured it was pretty safe.

Sweet!
We used to drive on Georgetown lake in Co every year when it froze. and run on it as in 'run & play' but it would never occur to me to run as in RUN on it.
Great fun. I hope other pics pop in
