Good morning.

I will hit the DDM for 9 miles with 3 x 2 miles @ HMP.
Then, I see Jason at 7h30. I'm looking forward to it. I need some special twisting to get my hip in line.

Everybody have a great day and get it done.

Hey peeps. I am going to spinning this morning... already in withdrawal from running.
Later!
I am sorry, but I am not doing shoutouts to everyone...

(((((ANDI))))))

Spinning was ok. I am going to do a short swim after work today, swim long tomorrow morning, and then do an outdoor bike ride after work tomorrow. If all goes as planned.

I did a training all morning so I am just now getting caught up on phone, email, and stuff to sign.
changed my siggy for the time being...
means I am on the Disabled List - it's a sports term

no running for two weeks makes me sad

I am being a baby about it, I know!!!
I forgot to say something really important...

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN SUCKS!!! GO BUCKEYES!!! (basketball game tonight) Both teams totally suck right now so it's not much of a game in terms of importance to the rest of the world, but in Buckeye world it is THE game of the year.
yeah, jen, i do. it's not that big of a deal and i am on good meds that will fix it. as long as i am not a major league pitcher, I should be okay. (I am on oral steroids)
I got the orthotics and went on anti-inflammatories, but i ended up having to get a cortisone shot to get some relief. It hurt like a bitch, but it was so worth it. I have very little pain now. It was so bad that the doc thought my heel had a stress fracture.
I am not trying to preach steroids here, but I am a believer. Yes, the shot was very painful, but running for 5 months in pain was worse. It was so worth it. If I had known it would make that much difference, I would have done it a long time ago. Instead, I took those damn anti-inflammatories and Advil, which caused bleeding intestines!!! That was two months ago and I am still not normal in that department. I stopped taking them yesterday since I am on the steroids now, and as soon as I get a shot in my knee, I can be off all oral medication for a while.

I am SO FREAKING SICK of being in pain in one place or another, so the shots don't really scare me anymore. Hopefully my two weeks off will help both feet and my knee. That rest, combined with the steroids, should fix me up and I will ease back into running and be back up to where I was in no time.

I am just going to have to make a pact with myself to allow myself rest days if I am feeling overtrained or am in pain. I know that sounds like a no-brainer, but when it comes to training, I have NO BRAIN. Which is why I am on the DL now.

Sorry to ramble. I just feel your pain!!! literally!

I am off to swim.

Now I am thinking about IronTy and hoping that you stay injury-free. Be careful!
Hey cute yellow guy.
Many of you are invisible tonight. Hi to all the invisible peeps.

I had a good swim - did about 27 laps, I think and then ran out of time. I started to feel sick, anyway, because I think I needed to eat. A guy that was there swimming told me I had a nice stroke. He was a scholarship swimmer in college (or so he says) and is trying to get back into it. It made me feel good to have someone compliment my stroke (even if he was full of shit), since I am just a big hack at swimming!

Tomorrow morning I am going to do some drills for the first time. I have always just swum (swam? swummeth? lol) laps, so it's time to work on my form. Then tomorrow after work I am going to try to fit 20 miles in on the bike before dark. I am going to have to ride fast.

THE BUCKEYES WON!! Hang on sloopy, sloopy hang on - O-H-I-O!! It was a really close game until the Bucks pulled out by 10 at the very end. My sister was at that game!

Soooo, my knee hardly hurts at all today. Weird.
Hey, sb. I just did my PT exercises and they hurt like hell, so I guess it still DOES hurt.
Anyway, mine is on the outside right in the middle. Bending it hurts most (it didn't hurt so much when the ortho bent it for me, but when I use that muscle, it was painful). Mine hurts after about the first 1/2 mile.
I think mine was from a misstep during a run less than a week after the marathon. My left foot was sore (not the one I had an injection in) and I was probably not running with good form. I remember when it happened and my knee has hurt since then.

What's a graston?
Hippo, thank you so much for the reassurance! I am glad to know that the PT I am doing is going to help. I will also DEFINITELY try running with a shorter stride. I think I can do that with no problem.

As far as the road - you are on to something here. It's my right knee and I run on the left side of the road (and the road slants downward from the middle).

I hope resting, meds, and a possible injection will break the cycle and allow me to get back to running soon. I just have to be careful about coming back too quickly.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me, Hippo!!! You RAWK.
OK, I just totally pigged out. I didn't eat real food for dinner and ended up snacking.

For Lent, I am giving up snacking at night. That will be a big sacrifice (which is the whole point) and it will be good for me. Not running is going to take away that calorie deficit I create every morning (even though I am replacing it with swimming and biking - it's not the same) so I need to be careful about what I eat.

I have literally eaten two bags of goldfish in two days. I am not kidding. I need a 12-step program or something.
Me and my full tummy of goldfish are going to bed. I am going to feel like crap in the morning from all this snacking - I will have a food hangover and I HATE feeling like that. Uggg. Oh well. Maybe the steroids are making me hungry?

Nighty-nighty, RMADS. Love you guys.
