Morning.
I'm slow and late as usual.
Going for 20.
2.5 hrs on the DDM and the rest outside.
I couldn't get much sleep, but since I did nothing yesterday after my run, I'm ok.

GO PATS!

Yes ma'am. She's last season's winner! Jordan Sparks. I think she's like 17 or 18...
Alemma - We got to the theater an hour early and there was already a long line. Fortunately, we were able to find two seats together. Someone was 'sick' sorry for those who have an aversion... Fortunately, I came upon it before it caused a chain reaction w/my dd and turned her around in a different direction. We got nice 3D glasses which I plan to keep for future use. The Jonas Bros. sang my fav song! Year 3000! Of course DD hit me and told me not to sing, 'cause it was embarrasing. LOL!
Made it through birthday-apalooza. Yikes that was painful. Got in a little more than a Half Marathon today to make up for yesterday's goose egg. First 6 miles or so were much hillier than usual and I let the heart rate get away from me a few times. Eh, what can you do. The good news is I felt great throughout and the calf anf hip flexor were non-factors....very good news.

Sorry about the Pats all you New England peeps but the wife's family are Giants fans so we were pretty psyched. What a game! WOW!

I'll try to post some pics of the festivities later. Hope everyone had good runs.
I'm going to do my best to not be a sore loser since neither of these are my teams, and since I'm not a huge football fan....

The Giants played good hard nose defense. I don't want to take anything away from Eli Manning, granted they scored (a few times), and he was largely responsible for their scoring. But the Giants defense IMO are the real heros. Manning made some good moves, and scored at some VERY convenient times.

On the flip side, Brady just didn't have a good game at all. It seemed like he just couldn't pull it together, and I'm not sure where the Patriots defense were. I would have thought that they would have learned something from the last time they played the Giants. IF the Patriots would have played a little harder nosed defense in the last 2 minutes of the game, I think they would have Eeeeeked out the win.

Armchair quarterbacking over... I did in a sadistic way enjoy the game. Low scoring strategic games are fun to watch.

If I have to pull out on bright spot to the game. The team that beat the Packers won. I'm just sad that the Dolphins record is still in tact. Truth be told, that's why I wanted the Patriots to win so bad.

That is the best superbowl I've seen in many years. I have not seen anybody put any real pressure on Brady all year. The Giants were on his ass all night. And Moss was a non-factor for most of the night. I really didn't think the Giants had it in them but they played a solid game and earned the win.
That's the same reason I was rooting for the Pats. That and the fact that they're AFC. The only AFC teams I won't root for are oakland and kc.
Brought the camera phone along today and felt like taking pics. Here's a little tour.
Drove over near the old neighborhood out of boredom. C'mon along with me on a little tour of Rochester.

Here is the house we lived in when we moved back to Rochester. We rented the top florr from a college roommate. it was a drafty old shack and little snow drifts would form around the cracks in the windows.

We used to go for wings at this neighborhood dive. It used to be called Dickie's but someone got stabbed to death and guess what, nobody went their anymore. It's under new ownership now. I liked it better when it was divey-er.

Rochester's Vietnam War Memorial. There are hundreds of these markers, one for each soldier who died.

Celtic Crosses and Irish graves in Mount Hope Cemetary.

The Erie Canal in its semi-frozen winter state.

The Ford Street Bridge with downtown skyline visible in the background haze. When you hit Ford Street bridge, you're about 2 miles from the finish of the Rochester Half and Full Marathon.

Johnny - That's pretty cool! Thanks for the tour! I do miss the northeast. Ssshhhhh. Can't tell DH. He doesn't like when I talk about missing home.
Well, I'm not going to even attempt the dailyplate.com tonight. Between the chips and queso, ribs, collards, I don't even remember what else I ate tonight. I even made a veggie tray that was barely touched. I have to be good the rest of the week.
I have an early AM run. Nite Nite everybody!
