Good morning!

I've been out of touch all week--first our laptop crashed (DH was able to save it, though) and then I had a terrible stomachache for a few days and could barely move. Glad that's all over! I was able to run 6 yesterday and just got in from a very chilly 10 on BARE PAVEMENT! I haven't watched the news for days, but I gather whatever storm is hitting all of you is just missing us in MI. It's sunny and cold as heck!

GO TY, ALEMMA AND BATMOMM!!!! Have fun today ladies!

GO BLUE LEGO CAR!!! We just had our Pinewood Derby last night--it is so cute! Have fun today Ky!

Johnny--hope your 12 went well!
Chosha--fantastic job on your 7!!!
sb--have a fabulous trip!
Suds--good morning!!
Nicole--wtg getting your ass out the door today! How did the run go? Just think of crappy weather as an opportunity--you never know what race day weather will be, so you might as well train in everything so you're prepared!
Abb--hope you have a good run today
Marianne--((dd)) hope dd feels better today and good luck getting your run in this weekend!
((Monika))--hope you feel better today!
Heather--great job on your workout today!
Jen--wtg on your run today!! Figures the one day you are up first, KR won't cooperate with posting! LOL

Batmomm - Alemma - and Ty are in for 26.2 miles of Mud, Sweat and Tears (of joy when the whole thing is finished).

Not sure how it is 2 hours south where they are, but here in RVA, it's been anywhere from drizzly to quite rainy. I think today will be a TM day... probably 8-9 miles on the TM. Tomorrow should be cool and clear, so I'll get out doors for 14 or so.

Jen - WTG toughing out that run in the rain!

Jeans! - So glad your back. Kudos to your DH for saving the computer. Glad you're feeling better. Nice job on the 6 yesterday and the 10 today! Woo hoo!!!

Chosha- oh your breakfast sounds so yummy! I was running late as always and had a piece of string cheese. I guess it's not too bad since I'm having some tummy issues (such fun at work).

Hi Jeans! Yeah for bare pavement. We missed you this week. I'm glad DH was able to fix your computer. Sorry to hear about your stomach.

Hi Myron! Have a good run.

Jen ~ Nice job getting your 9 miles in!

Jeans ~ WTG on your run! Sorry you've been sick.

Myron ~ Have a great run! Would you mind posting that link again to the Treadmill effort thingy? I meant to check it out, and I never did. Thanks much!

Marianne - here's the URL: http://www.trinewbies.com/run_treadmill_chart.asp

Chosh - nice job getting in your 7, new distance and all Layers are definitely important when you go out for much more than 1.5 hours especially when the weather changes, because your body warms up, and the temp warms up, and next thing you know, what was comfortable at the start is just a bit too much

Jen - nice job on the 9 in the rain. I won't get mine in until DS goes down for a nap. DW has a tutoring gig, but since it's raining, I'll just stay in and put it in on the TM.

Morning Jen!! Good job on your 9 this morning!

Hey hey Jeans!! Good Morning... Sorry about the laptop and the sickies.. I'm glad all is better!! Enjoy the cold but sunny weather, it's pretty much screwed up everywhere else..

Well that was epic. Just me and mother nature duking it out for 3.5 hours and 16.2 tough miles. At times the wind was blowing so hard in my face and pelting me with snow it was actually comical. Footing was crazy. Nothing stable but at least the snow was soft to run on.

Jen, you should have seen Lake Ontario. When I got up to Rock Beach Road it was a churning brown mass of 4 foot waves. Crazy windy up there and snowing for all but the last 20 mnutes. It was a hell of a ride and I loved every minute of it.

I could go for pancakes.. mmm.. my favourite.. but I just had a big breakfast and have to contain myself so I can run comforably before lunch..

There is no way to track our girls, right? We'll just have to wait until they finish? I'm dying to find out how they are doing... I hope Mother Nature eases up on them a bit... They've been running now for almost couple of hours..

Go Alemma, Ty and Gaela.. GO!!!

It is about 8 inches now since last night and prob another 6 to 8 tonight. The roads are mostly plowed, but some were not plowed at all. I took advantage of being up early and took less busy roads. I ran in tire tracks where necessary. Got splattered with brown slush about a half dozen times. It was nutty out there at times but I had a blast.

Morning folks!

Today is not going so well here, after my stupid long shift yesterday I was home for about an hour before I had to take my wife to the hospital. Spent all night there to find out she has some kind of -itis and now has a bag full of pills.

I tried to get in my 25 minutes in while waiting on the pharmacy to fill her prescription, but the 6 inches of snow and ice was too much for me. About 10 minutes into it my asthma started up and I reached for my inhaler but it wasn't there, in my overtired state and my rush to get it in while I could I ran off without it. So I staggered back home hit the inhaler, got the meds and came to work.

I think having been up over 24 hours and not having eaten any real substantial food in almost as long got to me. I know my energy levels were low when I got home and I probably should have just eaten something, but my stomach typically does not do well running with food.

Johnny - WTG dude!!! 16.2! Sounds like you had an invigorating run!

OMGoodness! Sounds like you had an eventful night. Hope DW is feeling better. At this point what you probably need is some substantial rest along with a good meal before attempting to run again. Whenever I am up for more than 18hrs, I feel it in my muscles if I don't get enough rest before attempting any excercise the next day. I have to get at least 6hrs of sleep, though I have run on less.
