Good morning, Kyky! Oh. You're not up yet.
Ok, I'm off to do my run.

Morning, Suds - good job on your 4!
Hey, Alemma! Sorry about the fuckity weather.
Hi, Andi - have a good run!

I am off for on eor two miles. Sounds so freaking pathetic. After the run, I'll swim.
Ooops, Heather - we were posting at the same time. Good Morning!
I'm short on time for shoutouts - will try to get it done at work.

Can someone tell me how to use the foam roller? Do I lay on it and kind of rock back and forth or what?
Tri - Good job on getting your 2 in - sorry that work was so busy yesterday!
Mon - Yuck about the cable!!!
Andi - glad you had a good run, even though you had to run in circles!
Jeans - Sorry about the crap weather and the school delay. I do miss Michigan, though. I really, really miss it. Do you know where Alma is? That's where I went to college. My best friend's mom lives in Grand Rapids, so he and I made lots of trips there and we used to go test drive fancy cars.
Cho - It was coldish here this morning, too - about 40 degrees, I think.
Nicole - sounds like a busy, busy day! You are supermom!
Myron - Good Morning. Have a good day at work.
Marine - Hey! Loved the pic last night.
JB - glad to hear that you are being optomistic and that things are looking up about the leg. TAKE IT EASY, though.
Gaela - glad your roof is holding...

Well, I ended up running three miles. My knee really hurts now. It felt pretty good until the last little bit. I wore my new Asics and I love them. They feel great!!! After I ran, I swam (only had time for 600m, but it felt really good!).

I ran about a mile of it with my hot running partner.

For once, I was smart and turned to go back home when it started to hurt.

Cortisone shot today.
Does anyone know how to use the foam roller for the ITBS?
Oops - I will go back and read more carefully!
Thanks! That is what I did last night and boy, did I feel it. It hurt like hell, which I guess means I was hitting the right spot. Kind of like the outer edge of my quad.
Mon- how on earth did that happen? That is so strange! So the inputs are all screwed up?
Okay, I really need to get to work. I need to get to a campus and make an appearance at a training.

I am nervous about the shot. I wasn't nervous last time because I didn't know how much it would hurt. Now I know! But I also know hoe much better it made me feel and I am just going to keep that in mind. Last time, I seriously had to breathe like I did when I was in labor! I'll just do my breathing and think of pain-free running.... following some hot guy in tights.
I am very sure, Sisu - thanks for asking. This will be my third cortisone shot (one was for morton's neuroma, and the other for the PF) and I have had nothing but great results from the first two. And no side effects, except that it threw my cycle off just a little. With the PF, I tried everything - NSAIDs, exercises, orthotics, etc and nothing worked. I went through 5 months of pain walking/running/biking before going to the shot. Within a week after the shot, I was walking and running almost completely pain-free and there was no swelling (which I had been having for months). For the first time in months, I could walk down the hall at work without limping, and I could run without thinking constantly about how much my foot hurt. I cannot believe I waited 5 months for that - my foot pain totally screwed up my stride, which is probably why my knee hurts. Now that my foot is pain-free, I can work on fixing my stride as soon as I can run again. I am not going to do another trial and error period when I already know what works for me.

I know everyone thinks I am crazy and stupid, and maybe I am, but given the history, it is my best option. I am not going to put my digestive system through hell again. And I am not going to quit running. I will continue to do the PT exercises and will cut my mileage back - I'll do just enough to prepare to run a good HM on March 15. I'll focus on the bike and the swim.

Yeah, it's going to hurt like a bitch for about 15 seconds, but it will be worth it.

Jen - You did what was best in that situation for your children. You certainly did not overreact. You did what I rarely have the courage to do - stand up to someone. I have a hard time with face-to-face confrontation and I need to follow your example. You CERTAINLY were not a bitch about it, but I think we ALL need to let out our inner bitch sometimes!! Especially when it comes to our children.

QOD - I do not care anything about Valentine's day, but I usually get something for DD. DH and I do not exchange gifts. He is out of town this week, so I get to celebrate it by myself. And I am okay with that!!!
KKR! I sure hope Monkey doesn't get sick!
My dd has a bad cough right now. Poor baby.

OK, I have to be done at my favorite coffee shop and head back to work. Fuckity, fuckity work. Gotta run to Target first.

Later, peeps. Everyone stay well!!!
Sooo, since I will be alone on Valentine's Day, maybe I should put rose petals in my bed and have champagne and strawberries ready for... myself? LOL
Doesn't say it has to be skin-to-skin with another person. Just sayin'
Oooh, my co-worker is PISSED! Our "boss" asked me to present something instead of her at Principal Meeting tomorrow (all the principals in the district meet once per week). It's information regarding a grant that we both manage (but she thinks she is in charge). When she gets up to present, she uses the most flowery, sophisitcated language she possibly can, just to impress people. It is SOOOO annoying. She LOVES to hear herself talk.

Last time she presented, it was 5 minutes worth of material that she took 25 minutes (which was 15 minutes over her time limit) to present. I had 5 minutes worth of material that I delivered in 2 minutes. LOL

Anyway, she is pissed at me and keeps coming down and saying, "since you are presenting tomorrow, i guess i am off the hook!" I just said, "Yes, you can just relax tomorrow!"
Well, I am off for my appointment. I am scared now that he WON'T give me the shot for some reason. I think I am a little twisted.

See ya on the flipside.
Heather - WTG on getting all your school stuff done. I really admire you for being in school. I would like to go to beauty school (seriously) and am going to start looking into it.

SB - You go, girl!!

TY - ((((((TY))))) Sorry you are feeling so crappy. Coffee and chocolate always work for me. And the drugs/alcohol don't hurt either. And I always like to have a smoke while I am drinking.

I have the cupcakes for DD's party tomorrow that I bought at the grocery store on my way to the doctor (state law prohibits homemade food in a public school - thank goodness for state laws!!!) and all the valentines are done for her little party.

DH found some pirate stuff for her about a month ago, so I am going to give it to her for V-Day.
So the shot was no big deal. Pretty uncomfortable and weird-feeling, but NOTHING compared to the shot in the foot. He told me that the foot shot is the most painful.

He said NO RUNNING for at least one week. So he's not one to just shoot me up and then let me have at it. So next Thursday, I will start running again. I'm not even going to bike until Sunday. Swimming only.
