Hope you had a good birthday, Paul! Nice to be one step ahead already this week.

I'm going to run and do my PT stuff after I get the kids on the bus this morning.

A friend of mine from college lost her dh to lung cancer yesterday. So very sad. I'm trying to decided whether I can make the trip to western NY for the funeral or if it's too much of a trip.

Morning my running friends. I will workout tonight. I had thought about going early but I just didn't feel like it so I voted this morning instead.

Paul it is always nice to have a short week.

Wow Sudsy, how did I forget you had a marathon??? Man it sounds like you really gave it your best. I think I would have dropped out way earlier. Man, that sounds brutal!

Susan, yeah, I got my Boston card. Now the question is, can I get my calf to heal up so it can handle the stress of training. Not feeling very confident these days. Ran 2.5 yesterday and calf started bothering me half way there.

Jen, we just turned our heat on yesterday. OMG it is nice to have heat. It was 54 in the kitchen so we had to do it. I was gonna try and hold out til December. We actually did that one year before kids. And we didn't have the gas fireplace then. Not sure how we made it. Now I get to watch my heating bills go up.

And in the more good news department...the guy we paid many hundreds of dollars to take down some trees yesterday also managed to sever my underground fence in some unknown location in the process. The good news is that Socks hasn't even worn his collar in about a month. He just won't leave his area now. The bad news is that someday he might just try so I either have to try to find the break and repair it, or lay all new wire, which is not hard, but extremely time consuming. Hopefully I can find the break.

Hi again

Just got back from a really nice 40min run. I ran to the polling place, voted and ran back home - I love multi-tasking.

JB - I'm confident you'll be back on track for Boston - you might not be ready for a PR there but you'll do it. I'm only up to 70min right now as my max run and I have to build my mileage up very slowly and hope for the best. Sorry about the dog fence - that stinks. I'm heading to your area on Thurs and going to a funeral on Friday. Want to meet for a run? We could limp and shuffle along together for 2.5mi

Amber - I'm very jealous that you got to horseback ride - even in the cold! Enjoy your time with your friend.

Ron - voting is good - glad you will be able to work out later.

Susan, yeah, keep me posted on your plans. If I can pull it off, it would be fun to meet for a run. I think I'm going to just do weights and stretching today. I am going to see a chiro that also does ART who occasionally runs with our group. I'm hoping he can give me a second opinion on what I can do to get back in the game. Glad you are able to do 70 mins comfortably now. I did 12 literally 2 weeks ago and was fine. Not sure why all of a sudden things are regressing . Very frustrating. I guess if there is a time of year to be out of whack its now. But I need to get out of this rut soon!

We got out daughter a pony today for Christmas. Well it is a wooden one and she is 11 but she went nuts when she saw it and it is the only thing she wants. At least I don't have to feed it.

Well time to drop the hatchet. Not what I wanted to do today but it needs to be done.

Hello! The boys and I went to DC for the day. We had a blast. The weather was perfect and there were no crowds. We left late and ended up sitting in traffic so we spent some extra time in the Lego Store on the way home and discovered that it was "build" night where the kids get to build something the store designs and take it home....for free! They made turkey dinners. It was a great end to a fun day. I didn't do any formal exercise beside a lot of walking and stairs. It felt good to have a day off.

Suds- I'm sorry about your race on Sunday. I'm so impressed you held out so long, and more impressed that you knew when to call it quits. You are a smart and tough runner.

Sisu- I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. That is terrible.

JB- 54 degrees! Wow. We let it get to 58 but 54....yikes! I think my issue with the heat is that I can't turn it on. I probably would have had it on the past few nights and mornings to take the edge off, but the gas fireplace does a good job. Once you know you can't have something you always really want it. Sadly our current house is very "well ventilated" which is one thing our house in Rochester was not.

Ron-wooden horse- you are a good Dad.

SB- hey there! I can only get my butt up early to run if it's scheduled- otherwise even if I'm up I just think about the fact that I should get up and run if I'm awake, and that's as far as it goes.

Hi Amber!
