Good morning!

The usual for me this morning, just still having computer issues at home.

I hope this isn't a slow fade out here, it's been a part of my life for a few years.

I know we have facebook, but it's a little different there. I'll still be checking in to see what's going on here anyway. This place is my motivation and inspiration to keep running.

I feel the same way, Paul. I look forward to "seeing" you each day (and the other regulars that show up!) and I'd be sad if it ended. I like FB but it's not the same. I'll keep checking in but I wonder if there is another place that would work better. I visit RW forums a lot because there is so much more action.

Hope you have a good day, Paul! I've got PT at 11 so no run for me this morning. I guess I should clean my house

Good morning Sisu! Good luck at PT. Glad to hear that you're coming along, I'm sure you'll be in top shape for April!

As for now, I'll still be here every morning unless the echo gets too loud here. I can't give up yet!

Hello! I haven't been on in a while...but I thought I'd stop in and say hi! I hope you're all doing well.

Suds- I saw the pictures from the accident in front of your shop last night- crazy! I bet that made an exciting day.

Sisu- your puppy is adorable!! How are you doing? It sounds like registering for Boston was crazy!

I've been plugging away at cycling, running and weight lifting. I started the goddess workout again and I'm in the third week. I'm doing it with a friend so I'm hoping I'll stick with it. I'm seeing some results. I've been slacking on the running and really need to be more consistent. I enjoy cycling so much I tend to trade it for my runs.

We had a leak in our furnace so we're in the process of getting our kitchen floor dried and repaired. Today they're ripping them out and installing more noisy drying equipment. Sometime in the next week or two we'll have to move out for 7-10 days when they refinish all the floors. It's been a pain and the noise is really starting to get to us. We also need to get a new furnace or heat pump. Good times- luckily our insurance company has been great. They won't cover the new heating unit though.

Morning my running friends. I will keep checking in too. FB isn't the same for this. It feels like my running home here. I don't belong to any running groups and my friends really are not runners except for my wife. I didn't work out this morning but maybe I can get a run in tonight. It has been cool and wet for the past week. It is great. The next week we should be cooler then normal no higher then 70. I love the Fall. I know it isn't cool to most of you.

Sorry about the computer problems Paul. Hopefully you get it worked out.

Susan hope you had fun cleaning.

Hi Jen! Nice to see you. Sorry about the kitchen repairs and furnace. What a hassle to have to leave for that long. You did a couple of tris this summer, right? Sounds like you are doing great with your weight lifting and cycling, etc.

Ron - I'll stay here too but I just think that this whole site is dying slowly. I remember when we all left CR and came here and it feels like we might be heading for that again. I hope not. I can't imagine not having this group and I look forward to catching up with all of you each day. I just miss all the people and "action". Your weather sounds great! Time for me to plan a CA marathon so I can visit you and Fer! haha.

Just got home from PT and he's setting me free! I did the tests he had me do initially when I went to him a while back and I'm so much stronger than I was. I do have an appt to go back in two weeks but I'll cancel if I'm feeling good. I've got to start running a bit more and slowly building up my mileage. Someone please smack me if I start to slack on my PT exercises and strength stuff!

have a good afternoon everyone.

Hey peeps. I have been a little flaky on posting lately too mostly due to not a whole lot to report. PT girl kind of kicked my butt the other day with a whole lot of leaping around. My hip flexors are still a little sore. I ran pretty easy last 6 night but my calf was a little tight after 4. I think it was from all the PT. But it feels better today. Just have to keep up with the stretching and PT exercises even though I think I am just about done going to the PT place . She's going to take some measurements tomorrow.

We def lost a lot of regular posters with all the moves here and there. I wonder how KKR is doing... Based on her posts on FB, sounds like Ty is doing well with kicking people's butts on a regular basis. Kind of feels like college. I remember being pretty bummed that everyone was moving on.

Susan the weather is great. I am really not a fan of the heat. You and your family are welcome to stay with us. We have a lot of built in baby sitters for you. We also have a lot of marathon with in an hour or two from us. Hopefully our site doesn't die.

Hi Jen, glad to see you here! Too bad about all that damage, hope you get fixed up quickly. Nice job with the running and cycling. Throw in a little swimming and you'll be all set for the next tri!

Hi Ron, glad that you're doing better with the running. 70 seems pretty warm to me right now, last Sunday morning it was in the upper 30's during my run. Time to put away the short sleeves I think.

John, glad to hear you're working hard on the comeback. You'll be good for Boston, too.

Yes, the postings may be slim but it still feels like home when I log on here.

It's sad, but hopefully it will turn around. I miss hearing from everyone! Facebook isn't the same as KR. It's not as conversational.

Sisu- congrats on being freed!

Hey JB!

Hi Ron!

I had 4 contractors in my house today and the damage just keeps getting worse. It's in the kitchen and dining room. They took our heating unit out and it's dead. So we won't have any heat until some time next week. Thank goodness we're in Virginia. It's going to be in the low 40's the next few nights so I guess we'll just bundle up. I'm glad it's not winter. My parents are coming today so they'll get to hear the 4 industrial fans and industrial humidifiers and experience the dust. The mold is so bad! They told us it will be December/January before everything is fixed which stinks because we're hosting Christmas for our extended family (or we were). Oh well....what to do. At least it will look nice at the end.

The swimming is what I don't like....I did a tri in Va Beach this fall during Igor and his 9.5 ft waves and it was miserable. I thought I was going to die. Luckily they called the swim after we finally made it past the breakers and we were swimming along the shoreline (although it felt like swimming on a treadmill). I've never been so scared before- so now I'm nervous. I wouldn't have been able to finish the swim with the current and the energy it took to get past the breakers. It was a pretty crazy race. No more ocean swims for me . Anyway, I seem to find a million excuses not to swim these days.

Paul, when is your next race?

Paul I have trouble running with sleeves. I don't like it. Almost all of my running shirt are tank tops. That was my problem last Fall running a marathon in the 30's in a tank top.

Jen - my second triathlon was in the ocean and I thought we were swimming in a protected bay but we didn't. We had to swim past surf, too, and it was tough - no where near as bad as what you faced, though! Did they call you back to shore? I like nice calm lake swims w/o seaweed or slimy things or dark creepy water or creatures - in other words I like a pool!! Good for you for getting out there, though! It must have been tough to get yourself into that surf but you did it and that is huge. I guess you probably won't face worse in the future, right? Sorry about your house - that sounds awful.

The life guards called us in- I only saw one the entire time I was out there and there weren't any rescue boats-- very strange since the conditions were so dangerous. Many of the elites had to swim back to shore and then start again because they drifted too far, after watching them my mental state worsened. Of the 12 waves only 4 went in the water and my wave was the last. It messed up the timing too- but that's a small price to pay for keeping everyone safe.
