<p>Good morning!  I just got back from running a 5k.  At about the .5 mile mark, ds12 stepped in a ditch and twisted his ankle.  <img alt="sad.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//sad.gif">  After about a minute he got up and wanted to continue.  I had been in a really great position but a lot of people passed me while we were on the side of the road.  I ended up with 24:55 for a time and 4th in my age group.  Ds finished in 27:05 and 5th in his age group. </p>

<p>My nephew, who is 11 and never runs, finished in 21:33, 3rd over all and 2nd in his age group.  I was amazed!</p>

<p>Andi-Great job with your 4th place!  You did awesome.  And, it's great that your ds finished so well even with the twisted ankle.  What an amazing time for you nephew!!</p>

<p>Today was a good day for everybody. It was a great course and I will do the full there next year.</p>
<p>DW had a great a great run, finished in 2:02 and change. My niece came in arout 2:10 and DW ran with her friend who both came in under 2:30, I didn't check her exact time. I came in at 1:42 something, a PR for me. Overall it was a perfect race day, cool and overcast. The scenery was beautiful and I'm looking forward to going the distance next year. (Pizza, ice cream, beer, music etc. topped off a nice run!)</p>

<p>Suds - sounds like a great day for a HM!  Congrats to your dw and dd and to your for a new PR!  That sounds like a good place for a marathon and I may look into that for next year, too.  </p>
<p>Fer - did you run today?  Is it still hot there?</p>

<p>Since I wasn't running the Maine Marathon today I decided to volunteer.  I worked at packet pick up last night handing out shirts and today I worked a water stop.  It was a lot of fun to see the race from that side!  Watching all of those people running made me really miss it but I'll be back out there soon! It was a perfect day for a race - cool and sunny.  I was supposed to do a short run today but ended up not fitting it in with all the other stuff going on.  I hope to go early tomorrow morning.</p>
