Good morning!

I hope you all have a great weekend planned. Not too much going on for me except a cookout tomorrow with a lot of cousins and family members that I haven't seen in a few years. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Johnny, sounds like Socks is quite the escape artist! And he knows where to go to stay cool and comfortable.

Tank has his 2nd training class this morning and he's doing pretty good so far. Soon I'll have to train him to get me a beer out of the fridge, then I'll work on opening the bottle with him later.

Hey Suds - That's great! LOL! Tank sounds like a great pet!

Batmomma! - Hey lady! Nice job in the humidity.

The lady who got me walking consistently is a runner! She's in her 60's and works in a different dept. at my office. She's short (-er than me) and really skinny! :) She started running in her early to mid 40's when a friend of hers died. I think it had something to do with her heart, but I'm not certain. That is what motivated this lady to start walking. She said she would walk around her block several times and increased her speed to the point where she started running for as long as she could then she'd walk. She continued to do this until she could run two miles without stopping. She has been running two miles a day ever since. She also walks (a LOT). She does stairs at the office and stays really active! She hasn't walked with me since April, but man she's an inspiration. She also told me she lost 16lbs when she started, but didn't lose any more weight for months. She said she did nothing different in her eating and excercising during that time and one day, she started losing the weight again and it just came off quickly! She is such an inspiration to me. As for me, I continue to plug away at walking...

Batmomma, we finally caught a break and got some mid 60s this morning. Still humid but cool and breezy especially in the shade, which we had a fair amount of today. But the heat is due back by mid week. Defintely the warmest July in recent memory.

I may do another run or a ride this afternoon. We hit the public market with the kiddies and got some great stuff today. Love the summer produce.

This new format is certainly interesting!

Suds- I'm glad Tank is doing well. Duncan is 9 months now and he is really a great dog. He loves the boys and they love him - and my older son Jack is very responsible with him. It's great. I saw the pics of you at the 4th of July race- Nancy looks great! I'm sure you 4 had a great time out there! I hope you are feeling better with your throat ickiness and that you can figure out that leg and back issue soon.

Gaela - I'm glad that you are back in VA safe and sound. You definitely saw a hot week up here in MA.

John - it was 88 when I woke up today. Still no relief for us but it is showering right now and my plants are happy about that. I totally forgot yesterday about the farmer's market - bummer! But I made up for it at Trader Joes this morning.

Cho nice to see you and keep walking. What a great story!
