Had a wonderful quick wkend! A couple fun football games, some shopping with ds1, the boys got to spend time with grandma and great-grandma, supper and drinks with my sils, and dh and I even found a few quiet moments one evening to share a bottle of wine together! I got 2 runs in and an ab workout this wkend as well! this is the last wk of football for ds3 and ds1 has 3wks left! I looked at the oct calendar today and discovered I actually have dates where there is NOTHING written I had 2 days like that the whole month of Sept! There is also a nice 4day wkend coming up in 2wks and my bf from hs is coming for a visit...Oct is looking to be a good month! Hoping I will get more consistent with workouts as well!

Here is a heartbreaker...my cousin ran TC yesterday finished in 3:16:xx, missed his BQ time by seconds! I feel awful for him..to come so close......

Suds-Way to go on your PR yesterday, and great job to your wife, too! Have a good day at work today.

(((Lee))) I hope everything is going ok for you. Did you have a blast at the mud run?

Staci-It sounds like you had a great weekend. Oct. sounds like it is shaping up to be a good month! Bummer about your cousin missing his BQ. It must be so hard to get that close!

It was a busy weekend around here. DD cheered at a football game on Sat, and then both DSs had baseball games on Sun. I had 2 very short runs, but it was fine. Tonight there is only one practice so it will be less hectic, and then tomorrow night Ron and I will have a night to ourselves, but first thing Wed morning I head back to Idaho.

HI fer..enjoy your date night tomorrow! I cant imagine how hard this is on you...going back and forth like this!! Take care!!

forgot to share a funny....last wk ds2 had to run a timed mile in gym...now he did that speed and strength camp all summer but has only been running right now durring fb prac but I was anxious to see if his time had improved! I think his pr is around 6:50 for the mile. He decided not to go all out as they had a game that night and he wanted fresh legs so him and a friend ran the first 4 laps around 3:30 or something...about the 3 lap in he realized he was prob going to need a pit stop (and It wasnt to pee ) so after the 4th lap he ran over to his teacher and she pointed the way to the bathroom....he ran into the bathroom, did his job and came out and ran hard his last 4 laps....the timer was never stopped...his final time with the pit stop...9:01!! He was in the bathroom close to 3 min. He ended up not playing in the FB game because of stomach issues that day...I told him to ask his teacher if he could redo the mile since he was not feeling good and his reply...."nah mom, its fine...i finished better then more then half my class!" BOYS!

Sudsy, congrats on the new PR and to DW and the gals. Wow, great times!

Andi, sorry about your son, sounds like you guys had fun anyway though.

Susan, nice you got to volunteer at MM.

I rode the Wineglass course cheering and supporting a half dozen runners from our group and a few other locals yesterday. We took pics and video and caught them at several points during the race. One of my buddies was trying very hard to break 3 hours. His previous PR, under someone else's name was 3:06. But he has been having a breakout year setting PRs at nearly every race and just missed HIM Worlds a few weeks ago in Syracuse. I was able to bike up and catch him at 15 to give him a bottle of Perpetuem and a couple s caps. He came in at 3:00:40. He was so excited and we were too. He ran a perfect race with amazing surgical splits.

Two of our gals also had huge PRs and both ended up running 5 to 10 minutes better than expected and both qualified for Boston despite low mileage training. It was an unexpectedly great day perfect marathon weather. Really enjoyed cheering everyone on. Wanted to run so bad.

One guy missed a BQ by 4 seconds! He is 51 and he says that was his last marathon, but he's said that before. He stopped to let a couple of the girls catch up to him a few times. he could have qualified but I guess its not something he wants to do. Can't imagine not wanting to do Boston but I guess it's not everybody's goal.

I expect I will be back to solid training faster than the doc said, as least I hope so.

On Saturday the girls went to a huge CC invite with hundreds of schools. Erin placed 1st on her team and 46th in her heat with nearly 250 girls and got a top 50 ribbon. She is so cute, this morning she pinned her little bib tag and finish order card on to her backpack. This is a kid who was very ambivalent about CC just a couple days ago but she was so proud of her finish. I had also encouraged her to try and beat the 7th grader on the team that was beating her at the first 3 meets. She beat her by over 10 seconds so I told her she'd get a little allowance bonus Molly also squeaked in with a top 75 ribbon coming in 75th. I was really proud of them both. I think its great for them to see so many kids competing and excited about CC. It's amazing what little victories do for their outlook.

Good luck to you ladies getting back after it. I'll be attempting to slowly ramp things back up and see how it goes. I hit the weights twice last week and will continue with more this week. Felt good to pump some iron and be sore after too long a hiatus.

Hi all!

Sudsy - nice chatting with you today. Congrats again on your awesome race yesterday!

JB - must have been cool to see the Wineglass course from that vantage point. I really want to run that one again someday. Congrats to both of your dd's on their xc races! They should be very proud!

SB - that is a cute story about your ds! Bummer that he missed his game, though!

Fer - sounds like you had a busy weekend but I'm glad you got some runs in.

Leembo - are you done with school in 6mo? I bet that time will fly by!

I just finished up a nice 45min TM run and I'm feeling good. PT tomorrow and hopefully he'll give me the green light to add some more running Time to make the donuts.

PS - any of you ladies looking for great running shorts I recently bought a pair of Brooks Infinity shorts and they are awesome! They are super comfy and have three pockets!! More comfy to me than Nike Tempo shorts. They are a tad short but hopefully not more revealing than a running skirt!

Hey friends!! What an awesome race weekend by everyone!!

Sudsy - You had better watch out for DW; she could be kicking your ass soon!!! LOL!!

Andi - Nice job despite the twisted ankle incident. I have given up running w/ DD10 - she has so much potential but her mind isn't there yet.

Staci - your son sounds like a HOOT!! I remember one boy who did GOFAR at school and he asked if there were bathrooms along the race route. He was only 9 though!

JB - Congrats to the girls! Sounds like they are on their way to an impressive running carear!

Just got back from my first "real" run since I got clearance from the doc. Did a little over 2.5 miles but only ran 1.75 of them. Took one of the pups too so it was her first real run. She did GREAT! I actually wished she would have pulled a little more! Foot feels OK, it is sore but supposedly that is to be expected. Need new running shoes too. Have been wearing mine non stop for the last month out of necessity. Bare feet and flip flops are a no no for a while longer.

Nic-We decided not to buy anything right now. We moved into another rental in June and we're kind of settled in here at least for a year. It's got lots more space, but we just spent a month without a kitchen because of a leak in the wall. That's was a huge ordeal, but thankfully it's over.

I ran a little over 6 and a quarter this afternoon.

Sisu - yeah work and kids. Plus I was so lazy w/ the injury that I really didn't do anything so the "habit" of exercise was kinda lost on me. I am done w/ the school contract and I chose not to renew so now I am just doing odds and ends stuff. It's working though!

Fer - sorry you guys weren't able to find a permanent place to settle but glad you have something that suits you better!!!
