Good morning. I went to the gym this morning. We have water coming in our house because of ice dams. It is not pretty! I can't believe we are going to get yet more snow and icy rain. My roof will probably collapse. I wonder if insurance covers that.

Suds - Enjoy your rest day and weekend off.

Amber - run, then shop. :)

Hi!

Suds - enjoy your day off today. Glad to hear that you don't have to work tomorrow!

Andi - the ice dam situation totally stinks! that happened to us a couple years ago and we had water pouring in our bathroom window. We have a big ice dam on the back of our house right now and I'm sure it's going to cause problems. I hope your roof is OK! Did you have boot camp this morning?

Amber - how was your trip yesterday? I agree with Andi - run then shop! :) I wonder if the storm is going to miss me? I have to check the weather.

I guess I'm feeling a bit better today - my body doesn't hurt as much and I think my fever is gone. I just wish I could breathe through my nose, though. The good news is that ds didn't puke at all last night and has kept some crackers down this morning. He still has a low grade fever and looks awful. I may have to take dd11 to the dr today to see if she has a sinus infection. I would really like to leave the house at some point today - I haven't been out of my driveway since Tuesday and I'm going a bit crazy!

Morning my running friends. I ran last night but my legs were a little tired and the gym was really warm. I didn't mind the heat as much as the tired legs. I am not sure I will be able to work out today but we will see. Maybe a late run? I probably don't need to lift today.

Well my son turned 13 today. I am not sure I really like this age. Some days he is the same old kid he was when he was 8 and other days he acts 13. The make up baseball game for tomorrow was cancelled so we have a free weekend.

Paul glad you have the weekend free. Now you can watch the 24 hour pregame show and the game. Sorry about all the snow.

Amber glad the storm missed you and good news about your son.

Andi that sounds terrible. Can you knock so of the snow off the roof? Maybe throw a kid up there to shovel it off.

Susan sorry you are sick hope you can run again soon.

RON--LMAO about the pizza..happy happy bday to your son!!! --have a great workout later, if you decide too...good job at the gym!

ANDI--Ron mentioned throwing a kid up on your roof to shovel...dh saw someone with a snowblower on their roof yesterday--I am not sure how that can be easier then a shovel--but he was doing it...ds5 and I also saw some guy shoveling with his dog on his roof..lol..not sure if the banks were big enugh for the dog to run up to the roof or if the guy had to carry him up and put him on it--but it was funny......

That is too funny Andi! Thanks for the chuckle.

Ron - happy birthday to your son. 13 scares me for exactly the reason you mentioned!

My dh climbs up on our roof to shovel and has an elaborate rope system that will supposedly keep him from sliding off the back of the house. The backside of our house where we get the worst ice dams and had a leak is 3 stories high so it would be a bad fall. He says that he was a Boy Scout and he knows what he's doing haha. I think he's crazy to be up there and I'm not sure why we don't have a roof rake but i leave it up to him. Is your roof too high to climb on to shovel safely? Might be worth a try - maybe you can get a neighbor teenager to do it.

So I had to go get dd10 from school around 11am because she's not feeling well and then around 12pm I got the call from dd11 that she had a fever so we had to go get her. We're off to the doctor for dd11 soon to see if she has a sinus infection. good times.

Sisu - I hope the sickies leave soon. :( Our roof is not that high and we have a roof rake but it has turned to ice so it's not coming off. Dh says he'll try to get more off tonight. We'll see.

I am a bad mommy. Ds13 called to say that he was in the nurse's office taking a tylenol for a headache. I told him that unless he has a fever or is throwing up he needs to be in class and to call me if anything changes. He has a hockey game at 9pm so I hope it's just a headache.

Andi - the edges of my roof are all ice, too. Good luck with it and I hope it doesn't cause any more problems!

Thanks Ron. Dd10 and ds seem to be doing much better :)
