Good morning and Happy Friday!

Running rest day today, just a small workout. I'm feeling a little beat this week so it feels good to have a break today.

No special plans for the weekend except for the football game on Sunday. Should be a beautiful day for tailgating with some nice steaks and cold beer.

Batmomm, nice to see you here yesterday! Feel free to pop in more often!

Good morning! I don't know what is wrong with me but I am completely lacking motivation lately. So far this week I have run 1x and cycled 1x. I'm not sleeping well and am so tired. I need to fix it and soon! Maybe it's just activity overload and stress over the new job - I still haven't quite gotten a handle on everything. And the kids different activites cannot get their acts straight. I get constant notifications about cancellations and changes to the schedule. It's hard enough keeping it all straight without changes. Ugh! I'm done being a debbie downer.

Should be a good weekend. Need to get the halloween decorations out and that is always fun!

Suds - Enjoy the rest day. You'll have a blast at the game.

John - Glad to read that the calf is getting better.

Gee Andi with all that going on it's hard to imagine why you can't sleep or get motivated

This time of year is crazy. E&M both in XC, Molly in school play (and just got an upgraded part!), both in band, both in chorus, all three taking piano, Maeve band and chorus, Odysse of the Mind has started again for all three...NUTS! Add regular trips to the orthodontist...It's a miracle we get through any of it. Women, including my wife, take the brunt of the action unfortunately it seems, although I did have to leave work early yesterday for a double pickup/dropoff.

Erin has been a royal PITA in the morning lately. I call her 8 times and she just lays there until I finally have to get insistent and then she's pissy for 15 minutes. I should just let her sleep and take the consequences. The other day I blew up in the car at E&M for bickering, including an f-bomb. Of course the neighbor's daughter was in the car...no worries, she's seen/heard worse...but I still felt like shit. Oh well, it happens. I've been remarkably calm since then though.

Got a cold rainy 7 miler in with socksy last night...followed by a shower for both of us. Calf held up well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sudsy, that steak and ale sounds perfect for Sunday. Weather looks great! E&M have another XC invite on Saturday. I hope they do well.

Suds...have a great wkend! Enjoy your football sunday funday! No football or tailgating for us this wkend, the hs team has a wk off and the college team is out of town! we actually have a quiet wkend planned!

Andi...some days/weeks it is so hard to find the balance! I actually will probably get in 4 runs this wk and 1 trip to the gym for cycling and that will be the most is several wks! I am hoping my sch will straighten out some now but gosh it was frustrating for those first few wks of school and work! Hang in there! Good luck with that new job!

DS2's freshman team played last night, he had a great game and they won 48-0! he got moved up a string on defense this wk...I am so happy for him because all season he has not been happy about playing time and we just kept telling him to continue to work hard and someday it will pay off...he is finally seeing some reward! his grade level has some really good players and he will always have to work hard to prove himself, it will be tough for the next few yrs! Will run tonight hoping for 4-5! and a long run on sunday! Have a great friday and wkend everyone!!

Morning my running friends. I just might take a rest day today. I have worked out every day this week and along with the rest of you have had a busy schedule. Tonight is a HS football game and the weekend has 3 practices and 3 games/competitions. It should be fun but I have a lot of juggling to do. My ex proceeded to tell me yesterday that she will probably be cutting back on the time with the kids. WTF she only watches then 2 times a week at the most some time less then that. I would love the have the kids every day that isn't the problem. I will be the one that has to answer questions on why they will not be seeing their mom as much.

Paul your weekend sounds perfect.

Andi your motivation will come back just try not to stress about it.

JB we just have to keep fighting the fight.

Hey everyone

Andi - sounds like you have a lot on your plate! I hope things settle down for you soon. My kids don't do a lot of activities so I don't have to deal with all of the schedules and changes, etc. I don't know how you do it!!

JB - glad that the calf is doing well. I say let Erin suffer the consequences once and she'll figure it out.

SB - congrats to your ds! It must be so cool to see his hard work pay off.

Ron - I hope you decided to take a rest day today. I'm sorry your dealing with that crap with your ex. I imagine that's really hard on the kids and tough for you to be the one to answer the questions.

Suds - Sounds like a good day for football on Sunday! Are you cutting back on mileage at this point?

I went to a natural running symposium last night at my local running store. Such good information and it's mind boggling to think about the way that most running shoes make us run vs the way our body wants to move. The Newton founder was there and it was really interesting to hear his input and learn about the research that went into the design. There were also a few other panelists who talked about barefoot running, orthotics, etc Really good stuff!

The Boston Marathon registration opens on Monday at 9am and I predict that it will sell out in 24hrs or that their server will crash at 9:01am! Everyone I know who is signing up for it is planning to be on the computer at the moment it opens up. This will be my third year signing up for it and each year the sell-out date has gotten significantly earlier and this year they decided to wait until mid October so that people who are hoping to BQ in fall marathons will have a chance at sign up, too. Should be interesting!

have a good afternoon!

Susan, word on Boston! I have stopped talking about it for the most part because I don't want any more people to figure that out...except my friends who qualified for the first time at Wineglass. I really hope they get in. I agree that the server will prob crash and it could sell out in a matter of hours. It is going to be insane. Cool about the natural running. I need to look into that one of these days.

SB, congrats to your son!

Ron, that sucks about your ex. I can't imagine wanting to see my kids less than every day.

Another cold rainy run. Fastest run since early september. 7:43 pace for 5.7 miles. Calf holding up nicely. My quads were actually hurting because I'm out of shape, but the calf was fine.
